Many retailers are selling mowers only to get you in the door thinking you have found a good deal only to find it's no deal at all because it does not come with a charger or battery, close to $200 additional charge.

No, The manual says you can store the battery in the mower for up to 6 months with a full charge with temperatures between +50 and -40 degrees.I stored mine outside and cut the lawn in May with the last charge being in Oct. I couldn't immediately find my charger.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 242 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Mower, No Hassles This mower has power without a cord to get in the way. No need for gas. Easy to push and maneuver. Was easy to assemble too. The safety key didn't come attached, so I tied it to the mower handle with a ribbon for convenience. Mows front & back yards are one charge (we have a small yard). Makes life very easy. I highly recommend it. My last mower warned the battery might only last 4 years, but if you keep it plugged in when not in use, it lasts a dozen easy. May 7, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by bad design The mulching door opening jams with grass. The opening is too small to use the bag or discharge option. Plus the mechanism to open and close the door locked up after a single use.. April 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Battery weak after two seasons Pretty disappointing that battery performance has diminished so rapidly April 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very powerful machine. You could say it's just a regular electric mower. It has just two discharge options: bag or mulch, but that should be enough. The description says it can discharge on the side but I haven't found how, I haven't looked to hard either but I believe that's not the case. It's really easy to assemble as the main part is assembled and one just need to attach the handle bar and attach the switch to it. Took me about 15 min. It's kind of heavy. The bad is pretty normal in size for a mower this big. The battery has lasted a max of 1.5 hrs or heavy work. I had a lot with pretty tall weeds (2-3 ft) and I wanted to try this on it and worked just fine. You need to be gentle though, as I was leaning forward to raise the mower on top of the weeds so the weeds didn't get stuck under it. I'm really pleased with this machine as has worked very good for this really hard work. See pics attached. July 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love It....Love It...Love It I put it together myself...easy to follow instructions...plugged it in and the next day I cut the grass...it was easy to start...cuts fantastic...the best thing I ever bought myself. July 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Product was easy to setup and use - was mowing after the first charge Mower was simple to set up. let charge overnight before using - worked flawlessly. Mowed for about an hour without any issues. one yard at a 5 setting and one at a 3 setting. Mulching feature works great. I have not bagged any mowing yet - not sure that i will since mulch feature works so well. Only issue i have had so far is at the lower settings and mulching you sometimes have to walk a bit slower to not bog the mower down. Plug mower back up after using and leave it plugged until i mow again and easily get a hour worth of time. July 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great mower I love this mower. I have a huge lawn - front and back. I use it around my plantings so as to discourage my 'lawn guy' from getting too close to them. I also use it int tight spots, too - close to my storage shed and fruit trees, for example. This is exactly why I bought it. Also it's much safer for my limbs than other styles. Why did I wait so long to buy one of these? Did I mention the mulching feature? No more clumps of grass. No more cut grass scattered in my flower beds. No more noisey engine. And .... Drum roll ... It's a BLACK and Decker!!! July 29, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed When we first got this in 2011, it was perfect. We could do our entire small yard without a hitch. In 2014, the battery stopped holding a charge and we had to do the yard in two parts. Now late summer in 2015, we're throwing in the towel. We're very disappointed in this mower. September 4, 2015
