Answer:
The battery charger is included. It is recommended to be recharged after every use. I just plug mine in and leave it till we mow again in 4-5 days. The battery lasts my entire large yard along with drive and curb edge if I use power level 1. It is recommended to not keep out in the fall/winter cold (below 40 degrees F) or extreme heat (above 105 degrees F).

Yes. One charger and the instructions say you can leave plugged in indefinitely. In fact, they pretty much suggest it.

Answer:
I usually just charge mine overnight. Power level 1 is strong enough and makes the battery last a long time; enough to do my large yard. I keep it plugged in until we mow and trim again sometimes 4-5 days later. Otherwise I have recharged it for a few hours to do extra trimming if I forgot to use power level 1.

Auto feed

How is the auto feed on this? I currently have an older Black & Decker Grass Hog with an auto feed spool and it is horrible. No matter how careful I am to reload the spool, it never auto feeds properly or it jams. So I dread using it and I'm leary of getting another trimmer with an auto feed spool.

My auto feed works fantastic. Just hang on to the small piece and insert into the hole and snap in. No need to pull out farther when starting. And this sure beats having to reload a typical gas trimmer line over and over. It sounds like too much line was let loose when putting into the housing.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DIY Person This is a good trimmer for light to moderate work. It's not meant to cut thick weeds, but it can be done. Battery is pretty good, had to charge it over night because i purchase sam on Friday evening, so I had adequate time to get a good charge on it. I got tired of Troybilt trimmers, had three...4 cycle & 2-2 cycle trimmers. Tired of mixing, thought I give battery trimmers a try. This is to hold me over until I get what I really want, a 40volt Lithium, don't get me wrong as I stated this is a sweet tool, but my wife or son can use this with no problem at all July 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Light Weight Just purchased works ok, It does what it is designed to do. Not as powerful as plug in or gas. Bought the extra spool along with a extra battery. Battery charger is discontinued thru HomeDepot. :( It is possible to get another charger if you desire for the extra battery. Just have to dig across the web to locate one. It does come with battery and charger as a package deal for $89.00. Over all pleased. Battery takes about 4hrs min to charge. July 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT! I bought this trimmer for my son so he can start learning how to take care of a lawn. It's a great trimmer if you are looking for something lightweight and easy to use . It's power is good for it being one string in oppose to other two string edgers. If you're looking into have a good electric edger and not spending more this one is for you. I also recommend to use number 1 power . There's a option of choosing 1 or 2 , 2 is of course powerful but drains the battery. I just cut my edges with the 2 and my battery drained just when I was about done . With the 1 set on I never drained my battery . January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Buy! Everything I expected. This a quality tool and the battery does last despite some other reviews I have read. Very happy with this. Black and Decker did a fine job. July 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not for me First time trying Lithium ion yard products. I have the average 0.21 acre lot with St. Augustine lawn. Corner lot so a few more fence and sidewalk edges. I could not get the trimmer to last more than 30 mins on a charge on the lowest power setting, and each time it took more than 2 hours to fully charge! The lack of power struggled to cut through St Augustine's thick runners on the side walks, which means I was going over spots multiple times for edging. It took me 5+ charges, 2.5 spools of line and 5 afternoons to do my lawns edges!!! It's not a huge property so that's ridiculous! Buying more batteries would put the total cost way above much better gas trimmer options. I will be returning my trimmer this week within the 30 day trial period. This might be an option for someone with a very, very small yard or town home with very little lawn and different grass type. July 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing I have no problem with the way the trimmer does the job, however, I do have a big problem with the battery. I have two batteries for my trimmer and still cannot complete the trimming I have to do. My yard is very average with not a lot of trimming and each battery only lasts about 15 minutes. I only trim grass around a small shrubbery area and around an 8 x 10 storage shed. I would think with all the modern technology that someone could make a battery that some lasting power. July 1, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by just remember it's all plastic The best thing about this trimmer is that it is lightweight. It does an ok job of weed whacking but nothing like a heavy duty WE. I used this trimmer all the time because it was light and portable with the battery. It is much better for your back if you are short like I am. Better leverage. But I would suggest getting at least an additional battery if not two. One will last about 30-45 minutes. We had this one for two years and then twenty days after the warranty expired, a part of the plastic gizmo inside the trimmer head broke. Doesn't it always? June 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Cutting Capacity and Battery Life. Does my entire 1/4 acre border very TOUGH grass) on 1-1/2 to 2 batteries. Very ample usage for the 18 volt style of battery. When trimming I use the main battery until it quits (about 3/4 of the job, and just pop in the second charged battery which fits neatly into an ordinary pocket. I use the 18 volt model because of the continuing problem Ryobi has with their 40 volt unit July 5, 2016
