Answer:
The battery charger is included. It is recommended to be recharged after every use. I just plug mine in and leave it till we mow again in 4-5 days. The battery lasts my entire large yard along with drive and curb edge if I use power level 1. It is recommended to not keep out in the fall/winter cold (below 40 degrees F) or extreme heat (above 105 degrees F).

Yes. One charger and the instructions say you can leave plugged in indefinitely. In fact, they pretty much suggest it.

Auto feed

How is the auto feed on this? I currently have an older Black & Decker Grass Hog with an auto feed spool and it is horrible. No matter how careful I am to reload the spool, it never auto feeds properly or it jams. So I dread using it and I'm leary of getting another trimmer with an auto feed spool.

My auto feed works fantastic. Just hang on to the small piece and insert into the hole and snap in. No need to pull out farther when starting. And this sure beats having to reload a typical gas trimmer line over and over. It sounds like too much line was let loose when putting into the housing.

Answer:
I usually just charge mine overnight. Power level 1 is strong enough and makes the battery last a long time; enough to do my large yard. I keep it plugged in until we mow and trim again sometimes 4-5 days later. Otherwise I have recharged it for a few hours to do extra trimming if I forgot to use power level 1.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid for my Yard I hated dealing with my corded trimmer, and I don't have a big enough yard to deal with a gas trimmer, so I gave this rechargeable B&D a chance. I have a small yard, and it works well. For most trimming I use the low setting to save battery life, and it does just fine around the rocks, poles, posts, etc. I only switch to high for edging my sidewalk. I can get probably 40-45 minutes out of a charge, so I can't trim the yard and edge the sidewalk. But I can do one or the other. The auto-feed is great and becomes a time-saver; I'm over dealing with bump-feed. I waited a couple months to review this, to myself time to assess it completely. I'm happy with it. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK for the money This trimmer is only good for light trimming around trees and borders. Nice trimmer for women to use. Not sturdy enough to do heavier clean up especially if weeds are damp at all. Jams the head. Clearing the jam can too easily break the head which happened to us. Black and Decker's phone customer service is a nightmare. Support on phone is a joke. The service center hopefully will be better. The phone call to them went better. Need to take to them as no box too ship back in and were told about three weeks until hopefully fixed. That takes care of trimming the rest of the summer. October 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great garden tool Love this battery edger. I had one other but this one is lighter and battery lasts longer. October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great bargain for a decent trimmer Great light/medium duty trimmer. Battery life perfect for my 3 acre home. Goodbye gas powered!! Wish I had bought one sooner. October 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Received this for Father's Day Already had the hedge clippers that use the same battery (love those too). This thing works great. Got a 1/2 acre lawn and use up a battery and a half usually. Has more power than you would think. I use the edger wheel a lot for the driveway, walkways, and front curb - its a nice feature. Two seconds to flip from edger wheel back to normal trimming. This trimmer will cut into the dirt nicely to give you an edge. Not quite as powerful as a gas trimmer, but the ease of use / low maintenance factor of this thing is more valuable to me than having the strongest trimmer on the block. Would definitely recommend. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by stronger battery the lithium battery could be stronger to add more power to the turning of the weed whacking cord. October 11, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely dissappointed Stopped working after 2nd use. Have been on a roller coaster trying to return it, as it is considered hazmat because of the battery. Many phone calls, instructions given and no one follows through. Been 3 weeks and still waiting for pick up, and credit. Extremely frustrating. I buy from Home Depot all the time and have never had this problem. My solution: If the product is hazmat, don't sell it on line..... September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WAIT! Don't Buy Until You Read This First I purchased this particular trimmer because I already have the 20v Multi Drill combo set and wanted something not requiring gas or cords. When I found this trimmer I was very interested, so I bought it. $89.00 for this trimmer is very reasonable. It worked great and I had no problems with it. I practically dug a ditch with it on one section of my walkway and it did it without a problem. NOW, here comes the rub. I went back online to re-read a couple of the reviews and guess what? I noticed in the OTHERS PURCHASED section of the website and found another B&D product that was the Trimmer AND a blower! BOTH for just $99.00 So I bought it and when I received it, took the original trimmer back to get my money back. (Which Home Depot did without hesitation - I did have my receipt and all boxed items) Here is the info on the combo. BLACK+DECKER Model LCC300 Internet #204691351 Store SKU #1000026132 20-Volt Max Lithium-ion String Trimmer and Sweeper Combo Kit (2-Tool) NOTE: There are physical differences in the Trimmers, 1) The Combo trimmer does not have a wheel on the head of the trimmer. It has a guard. 2) The battery fits in a different location (not a big deal). You will be happy to know that the 20-Volt Max Lithium batteries will fit this trimmer. This is great for me because I already have 6 batteries, now 7 with the included battery with the combo pack. SO, if you don't want the blower, the trimmer that is by itself is great and so is the one with the combo. But why not buy the combo for just $10 more! October 5, 2016
