I got this for woodworking and odd jobs around the house. I just wanted a reliable cordless drill and this was much nicer than I expected. The size is fairly compact (see pic) which makes it convenient for all jobs and light enough that your hand/wrist doesn't get tired using it. The weight is also very well balanced. It has plenty of power for drilling and driving. It has a very nice hard-rubber grip to it that is comfortable and very grippy. On the top you can select either drilling or driving and when you select either, or pull the trigger, a battery indicator lights up. It comes with the standard reversible driver bit that attaches to it. The recharger is very compact - much smaller than the battery (which is not huge). This is really nice because you can easily fit the charger in any toolbox or drawer with out taking up much space.
The Autosense is really amazing. I didn't think it would work as well as it does. In driver mode, if you just hold the trigger it will automatically stop when it senses the extra tension from the screw being flush. I have never had it push too far. Most of the time it will stop perfectly. If it stops short and you continue to hold the trigger it will begin turning in about 1/4 increments with a pause in between. This way it will make slight, automatic adjustments until it is just right - very nice.
I'm very happy with this and would definitely recommend it.

As seen in pic, initially purchased to hang home décor. Also used to install drapery hardware and pics. Great benefit of "driver" also. Use to reverse incorrectly installed hardware. Time-saving feature! Priced right. Can use universal bits, attachments as well. Fact that it is cordless also a plus!.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bizgoody1 Small, but smart and powerful!!
I got this drill to replace a larger, but underpowered Black and Decker unit that I've had for a couple of years.... What a difference a couple of years can make in the tech available and advancements in battery power! This drill is smaller, and more compact, but feels actually more sturdy... Has a battery indicator at the top, which is a HUGE bonus... (no more surprises when I suddenly have a project to do, and find out I have a dead drill), and this unit has a light that comes on when you start to do your work which illuminates the area you are drilling/driving! EXCELLENT unit!!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LosRubios Autosense can be inconsistent but works well
Our old 18v NiCad drill driver finally gave up the ghost recently so we decided to try out this new Black & Decker Autosense drill driver. It takes a little getting used to the fact that there is no speed or torque control. This drill has a touch panel on the top that allows you to select between drilling and driving (with the latter activating the autosense technology). The trigger can be gently squeezed to control the chuck speed which is helpful when starting the screw into the wood. The drill is lightweight and the angle of the led work light which is built into the front of the battery pack is very useful and illuminates more of the work area than our other drill/driver with a built in light which sits behind the chuck.
I found the Autosense feature to be very useful when it worked and frustrating at other times. I tried driving screws through 3/4" plywood into 2 x 4 lumber when I was fitting a back panel to a work cabinet. I drilled pilot holes for these screws before hand and it worked like a charm, with the screw heads flush to the paneling as in the demo video I included with the review.
I also hung a small blind into a wooden window frame and found the driver to be a little unpredictable. I pilot drilled the holes again however while the smaller woodscrews that came with the blind were only 3/4"-1" long, the autosense kicked in with about 1/2" still left to go and it can be a slow process to get the screw all the way in. If you release the trigger and start again, the Autosense doesn't kick in at all and the bit spins out of the screw head once it is fully screwed in.
The battery charges quickly and an LED indicator on the top of the drill shows remaining power. The charger is small and compact and simply slots on to the battery once it is disconnected from the driver body. It is the smallest drill/driver charger I have yet used and is only slightly larger than a mobile phone charger.
About a week before I got the new drill/driver I hung 3/4" plywood panels on our garage wall and used two drill/drivers to counter sink the pilot holes. I only wish I'd had this drill driver for that job as the Autosense really does get the screw heads flush with the work surface.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sferguson326 Great power in a compact size
I was very impressed with the power of the driver/drill. I have another brand cordless driver and it has comparable power, but it is much larger. This one is much smaller and fits into tighter spaces. Granted that's not always an issue, but when it is this thing is great.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BobL Perfect for occasional repair jobs around the house
I Purchased this drill because of its size and weight, as well as longer battery hold life due to lithium ion battery. This tool replaces my rechargable screw driver and older ni cad drill. I only need the use of this tool occasionally, and I have found that the Li-Ion Battery doesn't rapidly discharge, so I can use it when I need it without waiting to charge it up for the job at hand.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chrisk Awesome little drill!
I just wanted to write a quick review of this drill. It irks me that someone gave this a one star rating when they probably don't know how to use the tool correctly. This does take a little practice but what I can say is this is a great little driver. I mean little because it is small. Not much bigger than the Dewalt 12v Max drill. This is actually quite perfect for drywall work, and any type of woodwork. It has a fuel gauge and clearly shows what mode your in, the chuck doesn't ratchet but when I played around with it, I used a 1/2" spade bit...old and dull and bored a bunch of holes through it no problems. I used the auto sense feature and it does exactly what it is supposed to do when it hits resistance...stop...drive...stop...drive
This is a great drill. I bought it not because I needed it but rather saw a review on it and thought "hey...that's pretty cool". It won't replace my Festool drills or Impact guns. It's just a great little drill that's comfortable and easy to use and chock full of features that will make there way to other brands.
Cons....no ratcheting chuck, no belt clip, battery takes forever to charge. But you know what? Who cares? This is an awesome tool and you can buy another battery to keep you going while the second one charges.
