Answer:
No, it does not. I bought the cord separately. Make sure you check how many amps the cord can handle and cross check it with how many amps the trimmer uses. Also make sure the cord is rated for outdoor use.

Answer:
4 amps, recommended cord is 14ga. Smaller gauge (higher number) will create a voltage drop, increasing amperage, over heating the motor which may cause switch or motor failure. I personally use 12 ga. cords on all my corded power tools

My old black and decker has an awesome switch that one I engage the start trigger to make the blades move, I can then hit the top switch that will keep the blades moving. I love this feature and it appears that manufactures are doing away or not listing it?

Does this have that feature? OR is it a top button press/slide to engage the actual trigger power button?

Thanks

No. You have to squeeze the handle to keep it running. I think it would be too dangerous to have the switch stay on without squeezing.

My old B&D trimmer was the same as yours. No, this trimmer does not lock on, but this trimmer works so much better than my old one it does not matter. The safety police are protecting you. Like I said this works so much better than my old trimmer I would buy again.

There is still a lock button which needs to be pressed down to engage the trigger. But unfortunately, in order to keep the unit running, you must now continue to squeeze the trigger.

Answer:
specification states 14ga minimum, I use 12 ga for all my electric power tools. As cord length increases voltage to the tool drops, and electric current goes up. This creates heat in the tool, extension cord and cord connections. Heat will decrease the life of the tool.

If you click on the Specifications tab, it says the minimum is 14 gauge; I would use a 12 gauge cord at least.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hedge timmer I found the hedge Trimmer to be an excellent buy ,does exactly what it was bought to do . Now I can keep the hedges around the house trimmed and looking like I hired a professional to do it. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great trimmer for the $ Nothing fancy here, but this thing does work. Replaced the older one of this model that had less amps, but lasted me about 14 years! This one hopped right in it's place and got the job done. It's well balanced and light weight. I didn't realize how dull my old blades were lol until now. The cord or lack of cord on the unit is a nice improvement. Never liked the cord hanging off the unit on my old one. My only gripe is that mine doesn't lock in the "on" position like my old one did. Maybe I'm missing something, but I doubt it. Still, it's a great trimmer. April 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Tool, Nice Price This trimmer feels good in your hands. Nice weight and balance. Cannot beat the value for the cost! May 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Takes a licking and keeps on ticking I bought this to clear brambles, brush and vines along a stream and tree line on my 5 acre property. After a day and a half of non stop cutting, the bar came loose and the motor section was hot. I opened up the casing and the screws holding the bar came loose. The metal mechanical cam section was scorn because there was no grease left. I tightened the bar screws and re-greased, and finished out the day. I was surprised that it held up and completed the job after 3 days of cutting. My only complaint is the trigger, the ergonomics made my hand cramp up. April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by does the job the hedge trimmer is great. I was trimming by hand and it took a long time but the hedge trimmer got the work done in no time. I wish I had bought them sooner. May 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PERFECT for the price The price and power of this hedge trimmer was perfect! We have tons of bushes on our property and this is great to plug in and go. Good safety features of the auto shut off with release. Again, great for the price gets the job done. Cords aren't great, but keep it behind you when trimming and you will be fine. May 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 14yrs of duty and it Died today!!! I bought this back in 2002, it has worked it's but off. Trimmed all my bushes with out a problem. I would recommend this to every body. I don't know what fred has a problem with, but don't really care. It is well worth the 50 bucks!!! The one I bought in 2002 was $44.95, I think!! April 18, 2016
