Rated 5 out of 5 by Black and Decker 22" Trimmer I've owned this trimmer for 10+ years and handle just broke, so, buying another. I've tried gas and cordless versions. Don't waist your money on gas or cordless. Gas: louder, heavier, and fumes; cordless: batteries don't get it done and heavier. If you have a serious project, a light cord is recommended. Corded advantage: light, quiet, no fumes, dependable. I would recommend this unit to any serious yard person. I've already tried the other so you don't have to. April 26, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Medium-Duty Trimmer This is an excellent no-frills, medium-duty trimmer. You can feel the quality when you first pick up the unit. It has plenty of power and the 22" blade will cut through pretty much anything. You could even do some light tree pruning. I considered a battery powered unit, but I was not that impressed with them in the store. They were either considerably more expensive, heavy, or felt cheap by comparison. This unit is lighter, lower cost, and has more power. With a little care when in use, you won't have any problems with the cord. At the current price, this is a great value. May 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by WOW I had some unruly shrubs that needed taming. This little trimmer made quick work of it. Not too heavy to be tiresome, it saws thru branches like they are butter. SERIOUSLY, This trimmer almost makes trimming fun because it works SO well. Nice 22in length, so you aren't leaning over your work, doesn't bog down either, just keeps cutting.. BUY THIS TRIMMER!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent trimmer! After reading many reviews, it did not disappoint. After looking at several stores, comparing features and reading a ton of reviews, this is the trimmer I decided on. To mirror several other reviews, the length is wonderful and not in the least bit cumbersome due to its light weight. While the weight could lead one to question its quality, I have to say that it made quick work of a large vibernum hedge that was about 30 inches higher than it should have been. It cut through the branches with ease. Even branches too thick to completely fit between the teeth were no problem. You just hold the trimmer there for about 2 seconds, and it makes quick work of them. After lending the trimmer to a friend to clean up several shrubs in her yard, she went out immediately and bought her own. She'd been worried that it would be too long and front-heavy for her short arms and small frame, but she was ultimately amazed how easy it was for her to wield. ONLY COMPLAINT - I was already aware of this from reading the other reviews, but it is frustrating that the handle does not have a lock/switch to keep the trimmer running without having to hold down the trigger the entire time. Many other trimmers sport this feature, but I'd decided that the benefits outweighed this one fault. Furthermore, I am pleased to report that I was right. While I'd prefer a lock, the tension behind the trigger is minimal and thereforebis really not an issue. July 16, 2013
