Customer Questions & Answers

Does it come with a power cord?

If so, how long is it?
Asked by: Sallyg
This comes with a short "pigtail" cord that you will attach your extension cord to. Loop the extension cord through the handle and behind the cord holding 'hook' just behind the switch..

Constant ON switch?

My old black and decker has an awesome switch that one I engage the start trigger to make the blades move, I can then hit the top switch that will keep the blades moving. I love this feature and it appears that manufactures are doing away or not listing it? Does this have that feature? OR is it a top button press/slide to engage the actual trigger power button? Thanks

How many amps is this model

Asked by: josiebops
4 amps, recommended cord is 14ga. Smaller gauge (higher number) will create a voltage drop, increasing amperage, over heating the motor which may cause switch or motor failure. I personally use 12 ga. cords on all my corded power tools

Not sure what it weighs but it's not heavy at all. Light enough to use with one hand.

22 in. Corded Hedge Trimmer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 317.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from More Than Adequate for Small Jobs I just needed a smaller trimmer for my hedge that extends only about 30 feet and about 3 feet deep. This trimmer is perfect for that size. It is light enough to allow me to hold it with one hand and so reach farther.

The reason for only 3 stars is the poor positioning of the safety lock button. If you are holding the handle your thumb naturally falls right over the the safty button. I was coming down from step ladder with trimmer in right hand and trimmer off. Foot slipped slightly and grabbed for ladder with right hand. Trimmer started with bade across ladder and nearly cut 2 fingers off. Hope fingers heal and regain feeling. Safety shut of should be moved so thumb does not set naturally over it. Wish others better luck, but be careful with this model trimmer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would recommend this product I bought this trimmer for my husband but ended up using it myself. It's easy to use and not overly heavy. They only thing you have to watch out for is the extension cord you are using, keep it away from the trimming end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a hedge chomping beast! This trimmer easily cut through 1/2" and 3/4" limbs of 4 year old woody lavender. Cut about 30 feet of overgrowth in 20 minutes. I would definitely buy this again over the smaller units.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worthy addition to the tool rack I bought this as an upgrade to the manual hedge clippers I was previously using. It is a real time saver, and my only regret is that I had bought it sooner. The motor, which seems to be larger than on most trimmers in this class, handled everything I threw at it. Like other B+D corded yard tools, it accepts a separate extension cord (not included). The only downside is the cord, which limits portability. On the other hand, there are are no batteries or small engines to maintain, which is a huge plus for me. I would definitely recommend this trimmer for light use, where portability is not a primary concern.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than I expected I was visiting my Wife's Grandmother and picked this hedge trimmer up to trim her hedges that were growing over the roof line and was looking rough. I was initially going to rent a gas trimmer but this was 10 bucks cheaper so I thought I would give it try. Cut amazing, better then I had ever guessed. I trimmed back over 100' of hedges that where large. If the branch could fit between the teeth it would cut it. Make sure you clean the teeth and hit it with some Wd40 before storage or it be trash. Great buy for the money and was impressed. If this won't cut it you should be using a chain saw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Takes a licking and keeps on ticking I bought this to clear brambles, brush and vines along a stream and tree line on my 5 acre property. After a day and a half of non stop cutting, the bar came loose and the motor section was hot. I opened up the casing and the screws holding the bar came loose. The metal mechanical cam section was scorn because there was no grease left. I tightened the bar screws and re-greased, and finished out the day. I was surprised that it held up and completed the job after 3 days of cutting. My only complaint is the trigger, the ergonomics made my hand cramp up.
