Would this work for an out of control 50 year over grown rose bush ?

This amazingly gorgeous mass of a rose plant/bush stands about 10 feet tall . I need to take about 3 feet of the circumfrance but it's a serious task to stand near those thorns . The branches I could barely lopper by hand

Why do the specs for the B&D hedge trimmer (HH2455) say that a 12-gauge extension cord is minimally required at 100' when it is only 3.3 amps? The experts tell me that 16-gauge at 100' is good for up to 10 amps. Which is correct?
Asked by: EasilyConfused
That is not correct, if the 100' 16-gauge extension cord is used for operating equipment under six amps. (Many sources, including the cord manufacturers, state 10 amps.) The requirement may increase to 14-gauge if the cord is over 100'. The 12-gauge is very expensive and not at all needed to prevent overheating under normal use within 100'. This still doesn't explain why the specs on this model states 12-gauge minimum. I believe it is in error.

where do I ship my hedge trimmer for repairs

Asked by: monkey
Your Best Bet is to go online to www.blackanddecker.com/support/find-a-service-center and find the nearest Black and Decker Service near your location. Depending on the Service, or Maintenance needed, get an estimate, and find out how long it will take to repair. Sometimes it's better to make an informed decision. It maybe cheaper in the long run to replace the unit. Hope this helps you.

The details say no assembly is required but several reviews say assembly was easy ( implying some assembly is required) what is the answer, assembly required or no? Also how does its power at 3.3 amps compare with the power of the 22 inch model that has 4 amps?
Asked by: hr
I purchased the 24 inch model. The U-shaped handle has to be "assembled" to the body of the trimmer. It is secured with 2 screws and is pretty evident where and how it is connected. It took about 30 seconds of my busy day. The cutting bar is 2 inches longer on the 24 inch model which slightly increases the friction on the bar. The result is not noticeable in the cutting function. I've used both lengths and both work great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great trimmer My old B&D trimmer died so I was undecided between a cordless or electric one, since I have to trim about 35 hemlocks on my property each year. I tried my sons 20v cordless but the battery lasted 3 trees so I felt the best for me was an electric trimmer. I was skeptical of this one but the good reviews changed my mind. I'm glad I purchased it, I used it for the first time today and was able to trim about 20 trees in 2 hours. It is like cutting through butter with a hot knife using this trimmer. It is comfortable to use and light enough to comfortably cut above shoulder level. (Most of my trees avg around 6-7ft). The switch lock is nice as well as the cord lock. The cord didn't come unplugged once during my use. So far I would highly recommend this trimmer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First invention usually best way I have lots of hedges so I Know what works and this one does. Plenty of power, easy to hold, quiet, and a bonus. First, if you hold by the handle it balances almost perfect. it cuts very nice, almost professional . The bonus is if you hold it a certain way you get a breeze from the motor spinning, pretty cool. The rotating handle makes it easy to hold. If you notice this trimmer is skinny and long and the first invented ones 60 years ago were made the same way, it was for perfect balance when holding it. So it looks like the first way they invented was still the best way. Yes this one cost 20 dollars more but you will not be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Acceptable trimmer with a Great Reach The trimmer has an excellent reach, the extra 2 in of reach make a big difference for me. The cutting capacity is good on most hedges, the old established for many years are harder to cut without using as gas powered trimmer. If you take your time you can cut almost everything. The really hard old wood or thick will require a heaver and more costly trimmer. Good trimmer for the price. Big plus is the lock on feature if you pull the enable button, then the trigger, then release the trigger, then the enable the system locks on until slight pressure is applied to the trigger.

My very old 22" B&D finally gave out less than half way through my 51 - 8' to 10' tall arborvitaes which hadn't been trimmed in 2.5 years due to illness issues last year at 70 years young when I had planned on doing them. This one I bought a week ago works so much better and faster than the same old 22" unit which lacked the rotating handle, whether from on the ladder or from ground. I easily learned how to rotate the body quickly and easily even while unit is running to allow much easier trimming than one without. I can reach further with it also it seems. And, as an added benefit, my arm muscles are now rebuilt! It is well worth the extra $20. over the standard 22" model. Even has a 30 day full return policy in case it is not liked. Nothing to lose, but extra free time saved, to gain!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great long trimmer for the $ Basic long trimmer does a great job reaching high spots. I usually use my friend's Lil Wonder with 30" blade which is the gold standard for long hedge trimmers. The handle housing is extra long so this unit really does the job of the 30" blade. I like the fact that it is really light at 5 lbs. This means I can stretch out with one arm while holding the ladder. I like the 2 sided blade which makes cutting fast and easy. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase. Will it hold up over time? Probably because I only use it a couple times a year plus it didn't cost me much.
