I have this charger for about 2 years. I got it to replace an old manual charger that I have had for 15 plus years. I have only used it 3 or 4 times for my mower or small garden tractor. Until today it worked on the few times I needed it. But on the 4th or 5th time I used it, it tells me I reversed the clamps. Red clamp on charger, plus on battery with a red ring. Black clamp on charger and the negative on the battery and it won't charge and says the clamps are reversed.
It is compact and can start my mower and tractor when it worked. It looks nice but if you need a charger when you need a charger! I suggest you own a back up charger, if you buy this one.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Crossfire250 I really dig this thing.
Well, I've got a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire that has very low miles and only usually gets driven on weekends but then I traded the wife's Altima in for a year old Benz C250 completely loaded. Well I couldn't help neglecting the Crossfire for a couple of months causing the battery to die down and when I went to start it up one day it was click click click. I really wasn't surprised as much as I drove the MB instead being that it was the new toy in the garage. Well, I started shopping online for the perfect unit that would charge, plus more important, instant start so the car's alternator could take the battery back to being happy while taking a spin around town. All went well and I also love the way the unit stores so compact, even having a place to wrap and clamp on the cables. It feels solid also and was a great price here at HD. Check it out, I'm sure you may dig your's too. Oh, and I'm no longer neglecting the Crossfire like I did. lol

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mudder Useful and *Smart * little charger
I happen to purchase this unit as an 'open box' and picked it up for approx $50. I have used this in my shop so many times. Has some very good features:
1) meter on the front is actually USEFUL... it tells you at what charge level the battery is at.
2) puts out a solid 25 amps charge at up to 14 volts, continuously.
3) Adjusts voltage automatically, ie doesn't charge with a high voltage when the battery is completely dead. It starts out at about 12 volts, and as the battery is charged, the unit automatically increases the voltage up to 14.7. (If you don't know about electricity, trust me, this is a really good way to charge a lead-acid [car] battery.
4) has a built in little cooling fan to keep itself cool ( helps the unit 'live' longer)
5) has two side spools, one for the power cord, and one for the jumper cables, and on the back of the unit, there are two spots available to clamp the cables onto.
6) Fairly compact for a 25 amp unit.
As you can tell, I really like this unit, and I recommend anyone looking for a battery charger to spring the extra $ difference from a $40-$50 unit (that'll probably only be a 10 amp unit anyway) and get this one.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by mike 69 dollar charger destroyed a 269 dollar battery
yep, relatively new super hi dollar lithium ion motorcycle battery was boiled over by this charger. 2 AGM high dollar batteries now have a memory and do not hold more than 75% charge after being charged on this charger. Problem is this charger charges at 15 volts. good for lead acid batteries, but not the newer AGM and lithium ion batteries. Auto parts store sell auto sense chargers that can tell if battery is wet cell, AGM, or lithium ion for the same price. I found a way to use this charger....had to rig up two high current diodes in parallel so that the voltage drops .7 volts before it hits the AGM batteries. It works, but it;s a cluge.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by llwind very poor quality
Well, I bought this unit a couple years ago. Only used probably twice and today when I tried to use it to charge my second car's battery because I have not been driven for a couple weeks. Guess what, the charger wont even power on itself. Totally dead!
Among the twice I used it, it cannot start my car either in the "start mode" either. Have to wait and let it charge the car battery. So it does not even worth the money, might as well get a regular battery charger.
Overall, one of those cheap but poor quality product made in China. Useless when you really need it to work!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NYML63 BEST CHARGER EVER!
I used this charger to fully charge my battery on my ML63. It was gentle enough for my Mercedes, doesn't blow fuses or causes electrical failures, but FAST....it took only 1.5 hours to fully charge my battery. My original reason for wanting to charge my battery was cause the other day i was with friends listening to music and i drained my battery and i know my alternator isn't enough to fully charge my battery, WHICH WAS SMART CAUSE IT WAS LOW, so i knew i needed a full charge so i won't ever find myself strained. I already fully charged 3 batteries. BUY THIS CHARGER AND YOU WONT GO WRONG, IT ALSO HAS 5 YEARS WARRANTY!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PHILVET49 Pass the rest and get the BEST ! !
Purchased this after returning another jumper that used a small lithum battery. It was a piece of junk that the handles broke when we tried to put them on the car battery. This unit works EXCELENT! I would recomend this to anyone!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mike Do NOT Gamble Your Money
I bought this charger even though several reviews gave it poor marks;specifically, starts charging and with 20 minutes it beeps, red light comes on and status window indicates "replace battery". I should have listened because mine does exactly the same thing! BTW, my battery is less than 6 months old and yesterday I left interior dome lights on. The same performance occurred when charging my engine battery for my motorhome.
