No, only the spool on the trimmer. You can buy a package of 3 for under $20 or you can wind your own string on the spool.

It does not come with an additional spool but I always buy a second one when I purchase the machine. That makes it easier to replace. I keep one in a package and then purchase another.

Yes, you get one preloaded spool, but I recommend getting one or two extra so that you dont have to wind a spool in the middle of trimming your yard

Yes. You get one spool of trimmer line, preloaded. I would go ahead and get another spool or two, so that you don't have to wind in the middle of trimming your yard, though. always keep a replacement wound and ready to go and you will avoid sitting in half-finished grass cursing about which way the line ought to wind. haha

The spool i fully loaded. And I buy Rhino .065 universal line to refill it. It has to be done neatly. Which is surprisingly easy to do compared to others I have tried. Some instructions come in the handbook.

I use a putty knife to scrap off the excess and then use water with a rag to clean all surfaces. Make sure the rag is wrung out well so as not to get any excess water inside.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 275 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cannot use a grounded extension cord with this model--useless! I've purchased two of these. The first one had something rattling in the motor housing, so I returned it before fully assembling it. The replacement was assembled before I noticed that the plug does not take or allow room for a grounded extension cord--which I always use for outside work. The opening for the extension cord is too small for a standard outdoor grade cord. Calling Black & Decker, they insisted there was enough room for a 3-prong plug to fit; but my outdoor cord sure doesn't. I've purchased a lot of Black & Decker through the years and always thought they were great products. But the last few things I've bought from them have been sub-standard. July 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What I needed! After my old Toro gave up, I was forced to find another trimmer. I purchased the Black & Decker GH900 after going through the reviews. Today is the first day I have used it and was really shocked at the power this one has. Also, with my Toro, I had to constantly pull the line out as the bump thing quit working a while back. With this one I finished all my trimming in record time and no pulling the line out! I am amazed it worked that well. Not sure how long it will last but very impressed with it at this time. Hoping that refilling the line is not a problem. Have not had a problem in the past with refilling one with the line. July 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bang for you buck I, like most people, wanted a solid weed wacker(WW). In this case I was tired of cheap batteries and too cheap for a gas powered WW or a high end lithium battery WW. So I opted for a corded one and never looked back. SUPER easy to assemble, even easier to use, tons of power and it never runs out of fuel/juice. Granted it only goes as long as your cord, but whatever. The only draw back I should mention. I wouldn't mind beefier string. It did really good, but it broke a couple times. It also struggled with the really heavy duty stuff. Like 1/2" diameter weeds, but beyond that, no regrets, would buy again. July 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Automatic feed system It definitely auto feeds the string. So much so that it fed the entire spool in 1 day. I've owned it for 2 years now and was completely satisfied. However, one day it auto fed string everytime I powered it on. So, I tried to keep it powered on, but even at the slightest pressure from getting to close to an edge or ground it fed string. Was half way done when it ran out of string on me. July 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use! Sturdy and easy to use for a first timer! The attachments were easy to put together. Must buy an extension cord with this product! July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JUST A TIP ON THIS TRIMMER I bought this trimmer and it didn't even last one summer. Called B&D and they sent me a new one without me having to return the broken one. Secondly, this is really a good little trimmer however it does use alot of line. A gentlemen posted a review on April 2015 stating if you take of the wheel the trimmer uses less line. I had nothing to loose and the wheel was a pain anyways. I took it off and didn't even go through one spool of line. Last time I trimmed it used 4 spools and then some. I believe he was correct and wanted others to know if they're interested. June 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Powerful Trimmer for 6.5 amps Very powerful and very good cuts. Product is very durable. July 21, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor product control Fair rating because first purchase was factory sealed, but had been used and was also dirty. Went back: second purchase of same machine would not receive power and did not work. Went back again: third purchase works, but sputters. Bought same machine three years ago and beat it to bits/loved it. Had to purchase same because I had bought 9 refill spools and needed to use them in same machine. Machine of three years ago was a better quality. Could not believe the first purchase had BEEN USED and was factory sealed. June 28, 2016
