Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be used to shave off 1/4 of inch off the width of a wooded door and how hard wood that be.

Asked by: kingscourt
I've actually done this with the sander and it worked. Makes a lot of sawdust. Normally, I would use a power saw to trim a door, but it wasn't handy that time. The sander makes it easy to sneak up on the amount you want to remove.

I am thinking on getting this one to sand my old floors, how many belts do you think I will need?

HI! I am planning on getting this one to sand my old floors, this picture show the stain removed but i must remove the stain. For what i read this machine should work great. Anyone knows an average of square feet that I may need to remove the belt for a new one? I will like to get them at the same time. Thank you!

Using a simple hand sander to do a whole floor is a BIG job. This of washing a floor on your hands and knees with a hand washcloth.... I recommend renting a floor sander for the huge jobs. I've used this one for refinishing a stairway and I initially stripped the finish with about 10 #36 and #60 grit belts. Also, with small belt sanders, it's easy to cut grooves into the wood, so be careful. I do recommend this sander for edges and corners on a whole floor, though. That's how I will be using it when I do my floors.

Should work fine. Be careful to not cut a groove into the floor.

Are extra dust bags available.

I misplaced the dust bag and need one quickly. Are they available online or in Home Deppot or do i have to contact Black
Asked by: SNAPPYLOBSTER
Probably, but you won't need one. Just empty the one you have and keep going. Better, just ignore the bag... it doesn't work well anyway.

7 Amp 3 in. x 21 in. Dragster Belt Sander is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 97.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did the job Worked great for the price. It was powerful enough to sand down bowling alley flooring removing grime, flattening uneven spots, and sanding away deep scratches. It is light weight and the small front wheel allowed me to target smaller areas that needed to be flattened or have a defect removed. The dust port was less than useless however. No dust came through into the dust bag at all. It shot out the sides and bottom like any other belt sander I've ever used without a dust port. Not a big deal, but if you are buying for good dust collection, be wary. Would have given 5 stars if dust collection worked at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performed with Excellence! Sanded 3 decks and performed without a flaw. Used 36 grit, 80 grit, and 100 grit to finish. Excellent value for cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OMG!! Best edger This sander allows you to get into the corner because the front is low. You can tilt it to hit the corners.ALso sander removes paint. The 7amps speed is worth the $59. Why rent Hp edger sander for $47. When you can purchase one that gets the job done for $12more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed Design The tracking knob rotates during light use. This makes this unit next to useless. It destroys belts very quickly. I've ruined this sander's worth in belts (Diablo belts) just trying to get it to work correctly. I'm returning it in favor of something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice light duty sander I bought this specifically because of the flip up guard on the front end. Used it to sand my floors under the cabinet toe kicks. Has ample power for moderate jobs and is much lighter than my Makita 4" X 24" belt sander.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light duty workhorse but not for heavy use This belt sander ia great for your weekend warrior or diy enthusist. It isnt a tool for the construction site or heavy duty purposes but it is a good tool for a great price. The flio up option for the use of the top is a great plus. All and all it is a good tool but if you deaire a heavy duty belt sander you should buy a Makita or Porter Cable.
