If your situation absolutely requires sanding the door edge rather than trimming it, be sure to clamp a strip of 1x2 to each side of your door's edge - 1/4" down from the edge. That way you'll have a forced "stop" while you're sanding, and you won't wind up with a wavy door edge. It will take a pretty coarse grit to remove 1/4" of material, and it may take a while. Answer:
If you mean the edge, yes that could be done, but it would take a long time (depends upon the type of wood) and would be hard to keep even. A better option would be a table saw (and some help) or a circular saw and a guide. If you cannot do that, a router and a guide would still be easier than the sander.

HI! I am planning on getting this one to sand my old floors, this picture show the stain removed but i must remove the stain. For what i read this machine should work great. Anyone knows an average of square feet that I may need to remove the belt for a new one? I will like to get them at the same time.
Thank you!

Answer:
I was just elsewhere looking a reviews for belt sanders and a couple of folks with your needs were told that a FLOOR sander was a better option or you'd waste a LOT of time and go through a lot of belts.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kicks Butt for the price Had to resurface my deck, an area approx. 36 x 12. I used a commercial sander for the large areas, thinking the belt sander would only get used in a few areas the large one could not go.. I was mistaken, as it turns out, even though the commercial sander was designed to strip deck surfaces, I ended up going over nearly the entire surface with the belt sander. Plenty of torque and drum speed to make fast work of stubborn areas. the size and weight were not an issue, it ran flawlessly for a few hours at a time. Will be using it on the railings next! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Sander for the Money As usual, Black and Decker has provided a great tool for a reasonable price. I've been going to town on the six layers of paint on my front porch. This belt sander has not skipped a beat! I definatelty would recommend this to anyone looking for a decent sander. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Highly recommended. bought it because my son had one and loves it. Used mine once so far to "wall fit" a vanity top. Works great. August 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good sander The sander works very well, however, the belt slides constantly while sanding old growth pine. No big problem, just requires a quick turn of the adjustment knob. All in all, I am very pleased and would recommend this product for the price alone. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little sander The dragster works great. You just have to make sure to adjust the belt tension, to keep the belt from traveling. I'm happy with the results. June 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Black & decker 7amp 3in x 21 in Really good work done perfect with the right sand paper May 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dragster Belt Sander The belt sander was light weight and easy to use for small projects, however the front pulley guide did not last. It wore out after only15 hours of use. It is not designed for heavy duty use. September 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT belt sander I really can't complain about this belt sander. I used it for something that it really should NOT have been able to do and it worked GREAT... I used it to sand 70 yr. old hardwood floors. It took 3 days and a boat load of dust (albeit the sander actually collected most of it in the bag... you just have to empty the bag every 25 sq. ft. or so), but my floor looks GREAT. I haven't put my 2 coats of poly on there yet, but WOW. I'm uploading a before and after photo for those who want to see. The before photo was taken 2 years ago with a different camera but you should still be able to get the jest of the improvement. It's PHENOMINAL! Took away 70 years worth of caked on brown grime, filth, & stains. BTW, I returned the Ryobi 6 amp yellow sander (3 x 18 inch) to get this one. It didn't work any where NEAR as well, surprisingly...
