Answer:
Possible yes. Time Consuming -> YES.
If you are asking about making the door shorter or narrower, I would use a circular saw and cut the 1/4" off.
If you are asking about the WIDTH(thickness) of the door, I would buy a new door.

Answer:
If your situation absolutely requires sanding the door edge rather than trimming it, be sure to clamp a strip of 1x2 to each side of your door's edge - 1/4" down from the edge. That way you'll have a forced "stop" while you're sanding, and you won't wind up with a wavy door edge. It will take a pretty coarse grit to remove 1/4" of material, and it may take a while. Answer:
If you mean the edge, yes that could be done, but it would take a long time (depends upon the type of wood) and would be hard to keep even. A better option would be a table saw (and some help) or a circular saw and a guide. If you cannot do that, a router and a guide would still be easier than the sander.

HI! I am planning on getting this one to sand my old floors, this picture show the stain removed but i must remove the stain. For what i read this machine should work great. Anyone knows an average of square feet that I may need to remove the belt for a new one? I will like to get them at the same time.
Thank you!

Answer:
I was just elsewhere looking a reviews for belt sanders and a couple of folks with your needs were told that a FLOOR sander was a better option or you'd waste a LOT of time and go through a lot of belts.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Performed with Excellence! Sanded 3 decks and performed without a flaw. Used 36 grit, 80 grit, and 100 grit to finish. Excellent value for cost. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OMG!! Best edger This sander allows you to get into the corner because the front is low. You can tilt it to hit the corners.ALso sander removes paint. The 7amps speed is worth the $59. Why rent Hp edger sander for $47. When you can purchase one that gets the job done for $12more. October 22, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Light duty workhorse but not for heavy use This belt sander ia great for your weekend warrior or diy enthusist. It isnt a tool for the construction site or heavy duty purposes but it is a good tool for a great price. The flio up option for the use of the top is a great plus. All and all it is a good tool but if you deaire a heavy duty belt sander you should buy a Makita or Porter Cable. October 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Did the job Worked great for the price. It was powerful enough to sand down bowling alley flooring removing grime, flattening uneven spots, and sanding away deep scratches. It is light weight and the small front wheel allowed me to target smaller areas that needed to be flattened or have a defect removed. The dust port was less than useless however. No dust came through into the dust bag at all. It shot out the sides and bottom like any other belt sander I've ever used without a dust port. Not a big deal, but if you are buying for good dust collection, be wary. Would have given 5 stars if dust collection worked at all. September 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great sander Really like the feature that allows theleading edge of the sander to be exposed. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kicks Butt for the price Had to resurface my deck, an area approx. 36 x 12. I used a commercial sander for the large areas, thinking the belt sander would only get used in a few areas the large one could not go.. I was mistaken, as it turns out, even though the commercial sander was designed to strip deck surfaces, I ended up going over nearly the entire surface with the belt sander. Plenty of torque and drum speed to make fast work of stubborn areas. the size and weight were not an issue, it ran flawlessly for a few hours at a time. Will be using it on the railings next! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Sander for the Money As usual, Black and Decker has provided a great tool for a reasonable price. I've been going to town on the six layers of paint on my front porch. This belt sander has not skipped a beat! I definatelty would recommend this to anyone looking for a decent sander. August 9, 2016
