The unit that was shipped to me was very inaccurate, not coming close to meeting the accuracy specification. Even an instrument that meets the published specification is questionable as to the usability if you are trying to do quality work.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by XXXX Great for sewing and hanging pictures!
I purchased this level for an unconventional reason. I was sewing panels for the guest bedroom windows and wanted to make sure I got the panels straight. With fabric on the cutting table, I placed the level to sight a straight cutting line. The level allowed me to cut a long straight line thus making the panels hang correctly when placed on the wall.
I also used the level for hanging large, heavy, painted panels the same distance vertically from the ceiling .... then it was used to line-up other wooden panels on a large expanse of wall horizontally.
Overall, performs as expected. I would purchase again.

The mechanism in the back that was used to hold the laser level in place on the wall broke numerous times during use. Also, the laser was off by a smidge, but that ruined our large project.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by don 16x40 barn
Back in 2007 I used this to build an entire 16' x 40' barn, from setting the post to setting all the 2x6x16s for roof and all 2x4 and 2x6s for the framing on both sides of the barn. This cheap level worked excellent keeping all framing level all the way around the barn walls even on opposite sides of the barn. The LED Lasar is hard to see in direct sunlight but it's there just shade the spot with something and you can see the line. I still have it and use it here and there on projects. Now here in 2016 I'm going to use it to build a 20x12 over hang on my shed.

The level is not calibrated and I had to hang up wall art the old fashioned way. It's going back tomorrow

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Parisbill Not quite as good as a previous model which used a gyroscope to set level.
Definelty aids picture hanging. East to use but needs to be used carefully. A previous model from Black and Decker had a gyroscope which created a perfect level line. This model should be used in conjunction with careful measuring. Certainly validates measuring.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CMaria Cool product
Purchased this to hang pictures as I'm hopeless in hanging things in an even line. I've only used it once, so I'm still getting accustomed to it. One thing I noted is that the straight line it created was slightly off when I actually put a level on it. Very minor and it could very well have been user error. It seems to be a little unclear as to where the level point is on the product itself as I didn't see a 0 degree. I'm sure it will get better as I use it more. Stays on the wall well and I'm glad I purchase it. Took the frustration and um, associated language, out of the job. :)

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Corporate14 You get what you pay for.
Not a bad unit, but the laser beam isn't as strong as I would like it. For the money I spent, it does the job. it works the best on smooth surfaces as even just slightly textured surfaces break up the beam. If you are looking for a inexpensive laser level to hang pictures, then this will work. For all other projects, spend a little more money.
