Answer:
yes but i would get the more basic one like the ryobi cat sander, its cheaper and it works just as well (ive had several mouse/cat sanders, the ryobi is my favorite) you wouldnt want to use a belt or random orbit you could use a sheet sander but it could only get the flat areas this can get the groves in the cabinet aswell, so this one is more of a do all in work like that. yes this would be the best for Read More

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I outlasted it! We've had for a few years now but the platen broke on me during the first time I used. We still had the round platen and I brought it out recently to use and got to looking at the platen that broke to see if it was replaceable. That is when I stumbled across all these excellent! (what is e-sign for sarcasm) reviews with the exact problem. I actually thought it was just me and I did use it for too long at one time. I'm old, I'm a bit overweight, and female (not that that matters) so I usually break off projects a little at a time. This sander quit before I was ready to quit! August 22, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not worth it The Platen broke for no apparent reason, the part cost almost as much as the sander itself. Decided to trash the sander and buy a more reliable brand. I have barely used this sander, maybe 3 or 4 times a year. July 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Run away Nothing on this sander will please you. I bought it for the orbital, it doesn't orbit. The oddball sanding sheets clog quickly. It's too loud for the little amount of sanding this thing does. May 26, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by very disappointed -took it back in less that one day Great idea, 2 pads, 4 speeds. Used it for 10-15 minutes with first pad. Went to switch to the orbital pad and can't get the original pad off. Instructions tell me to press the release button and put the pad off. Sure woulds simple. I would say you get what you pay for but that would be an over statement. Taking it back to the store first thing tomorrow. October 25, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Black and Decker Multi-Sander I am on my second sander of this one, and just contacted Black and Decker on it. Will see what they say. I put this to hard use for my business, and they have held up fine except for the velcro to hold the sanding sheets. So now I am looking at a 3rd one or money back to buy another brand. Not the same Black and Decker of what my father and I grew up with! September 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hand sander I am a mature female (ie. old), & I needed a sander to do the light sanding around the house before I repainted the outside, esp. the windowsills. It was perfect for my needs. It was a little awkward to put it all together at first, but once I figured it out, it was a snap. I don't know if it would hold up to a big job, or for a serious hobbyist, but for my needs, it was perfect. September 23, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Major design fault unit overheats and melts the main gear. the fix would be on screw but B&D doe not offer the part. October 27, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great For Small Projects - Do It Yourselfer This sander is great for small projects around the house, the do-it-yourselfer. It is not as powerful as professional sanders, but for the price, does a really great job. I have the last version with only one speed (but still love it) and got this one for a friend and she is thrilled with it. It is difficult to find the very fine grit sand paper but I usually buy a cheaper brand anyway for all grits and trim them to fit this machine -- because the sandpaper for this is way overpriced.
