Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Chevy513 Great once I found a use for it!
There was one of these laying around my mothers house for years, I assume my dad left it there. For years I never saw a practical use for it so it sat in the barn and collected dust and I even contemplated getting rid of it. I should mention that I'm not a woodworker, I build commercial duty trucks by trade. I am very handy in all aspects for the most part and maintain my house and all of my rental units. I had finally decided that my circular saw wasn't enough and that I needed a Miter Saw when I found a great deal on a bright green one I picked it up and I finally found a use for this stand! initially I just drilled some holes in the wood and bolted my miter saw to this stand and figured that would be ok as the saw and stand wouldn't leave my garage often. About 2 weeks later I decided that was not sufficient and I could easily do better and that I didn't want to have to use a wrench to take my saw off. So I looked at the underside of the base on my miter saw, did a little measuring, went about drilling some new holes in the wood and grinding down the plastic tabs a little and about 30 minutes later presto I could securely clamp my miter saw to the stand simply using the hand cranks. Since then it has become indispensable, I use a simple little fold out adjustable height A-frame stand with a roller on top to support longer boards and it works great. I actually prefer this setup to a traditional miter saw stand due to it's compact size, I like how the stand collapses down and the feet fold in making it very compact, this feature came in very important most recently when my truck was out of commission for a few days while I was laying in a laminate floor in one of my rentals and had to have my miter saw there and didn't want to be cutting pieces on the ground! Due to this stands ability to collapse and fold up nice and small I was able to fit it into my car and still have plenty of room for my miter saw and little A-frame stand I use for longer pieces of wood! Since I will not leave my tools on site overnight I packed this stand and saw back and forth to and from my rental for a few days and it was great, there's no way I would have got a regular miter saw stand into my car so this stand save the day! I'm sure it has many other uses to other people but for me this has become a dedicated stand for my miter saw and it has worked out great for me! There is only one reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 and that being that the hand cranks are plastic and often times I feel as if I might break them when tightening them but so far they have held up. All in all if you have an application that this stand can work for I highly recommend it.

Assembly was easy enough, but the quality overall is average at best. This product is not made in the USA. Would like to see that change.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tommy Disappointed In Newer Model Workmate
I have been fortunate to have owned a BLACK & DECKER Workmate for many years. I received one as a gift over 30 years ago and it is still very functional. My disappointment came when I received the new one I recently purchased. I had hopes it would be of the same quality as the old one. The new model is smaller and not as heavily made as my old Workmate. The quality of steel is less and the wood top is smaller and made of a poorer quality of wood. While I am disappointed, I do love the functionality the Workmate Workbench product provides.
