Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mike A little flimsy but very handy.
The workmate 425 was not as sturdy as I thought it would be for the cost but the design is very practical and it is still a very handy tool to have in the garage.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Alvinski Good old workbench... Still the most versatile
Not as good as the old cast aluminum frame version and a bit wobbly. Still, it's the only product like this and has been the go-to workbench since the 80's... Very versatile.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mom Best gift to my son EVER!
The work bench was a great choice for my son, who has many projects going on building props, etc. The instructions that came with the work bench were not so great, but he found instructions from someone who posted how to put it together on the internet, which were more helpful.

Am well satisfied with the work bench, once I got it put together. However the instructions were very unclear and frustrating.

This replaces an old one that has been well used for the last 23 years. Still made to the same quality which is nice to see.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TheWorkmateGuy An Excellent Product with Acceptions
I needed a bench that would meet the following criteria:
* Collapsible to save floor space in my garage
* Light to medium duty for projects around the house
* Heavy enough to be stable on tough/heavy jobs
* Multiple height settings for different size jobs
* Horizontal and Vertical clamping capabilities
* Sufficient work surface area
* Resistant to humidity both; metal and wood
* One hand clamping
* Reasonable price point (around $100)
There are a number of Workmate models available from simple benches such as the WM125 style to the more complex WM1000 model. After reading the reviews and specifications I realized that the WM425 had the best match for my criteria.
Shipping: 5 Stars
Shipping was very cost effective at the time and it arrived in just a few days.
Packaging: 1 Star
The Workmate was shipped in retail display packaging which is insufficient for typical shipping. The package was damaged with the top almost completely ripped off and I cannot fault the carrier as the cardboard was very thin. As a result one of the plastic feet was missing. The retail box should be shipped inside a stronger shipping box as I have seen with other items.
Customer Support: 5 Stars
Customer Support was very courteous and responsive when I called for the replacement plastic foot that was missing due to poor packaging. The replacement arrived in a few days without item or shipping cost.
Assembly: 2 Stars
The assembly instructions were very poor.
Durability: 5 Stars
The bench top is now made of bamboo and not particle board which is sensitive to moisture. All of the metal parts are well painted. So, I do not anticipant any rust or swelling of the bamboo bench top due to the high humidity that can be found in Austin Texas.
Overall Rating: 4.5 Stars
I have deducted one half star due to the flimsy retail packaging the bench was shipped in resulting in the loss of a plastic foot. This was preventable. Otherwise I am delighted with this bench.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Phil Poorly written assembly instructions
For a product that requires very little assembly, the instructions are poorly written and somewhat confusing. The instruction sheet is small, type is small and pictures that purport to demonstrate the steps are incomplete and hard to decipher. The problem is exacerbated because of the very small size of the accompanying pictures that supposedly demonstrate the assembly. I did better myself just using my own logic and trial and error than trying to figure out the written instructions. Other than that, a good product.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by GieF great work table
take a while to assemble, could have been easier with a clearer instruction. great portable work table to have, only gripe, it's not that easy (one handed?) to open.
