In this case you get what you pay for. I purchased it to keep small hands from accessing the guns and it will do that just fine. The safe is working well, but the gaps in the door would make it easier for a thief to break in. The seal isn't real tight so I don't know if it would affect how fireproof it is during a fire. I was able to add power and lighting to it pretty easily. It has only been a few weeks. So far no issues with the electronic lock that others have had with their safes. I would recommend the safe for the reason listed above. If you are looking for something to really keep others out you would want to get something with a full steal plate door and tighter gaps, but it will cost you more as well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HM Great value in a full-featured safe.
This safe has some great specs; lots of space, two half width shelves, and a full width shelf. The door organizer is very useful especially for easy access to handguns and magazines. The door pockets are good sized for accessories. It would be nice if the barrel rests had more offset for scoped rifles and if they could be adjusted lower for carbines.
The only thing it's missing is a UL listing as a "Residential Security Container" for tax purposes.
It as great value otherwise and even more so since I got it on sale.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bridge Do not purchase this safe! Not pry-resistant at all
We purchased 3 of these to use in our stores. Our store got broke into, they were able to use a pry bar and get the door open about 4 inches. The cylinders down the side of the door, do not stay behind the inner wall of the safe when locked. You can turn handle while locked and they move allowing the side of he door to be pried open. The one top cylinder stayed in place or else they would of been able to get the door fully open. I checked the other 2 safes to see if it was a flaw in the one, or a trait. Same thing happens to all three. These are being returned and we will purchase another brand that actually doesn't let the cylinders move while locked. Returning for a safe that works!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Phil3691 Great safe. Not impressed with Buffalo tools.
I purchased the safe at Home Depot... The sale and delivery went well. The safe itself is excellent but the electronic keypad was defective ( brand new batteries only lasted about 2 hours... I went throught 12 new batteries )... So I called Buffalo Tools and spoke to there customer support dept. and was told that a new keypad would be sent. After 3 weeks not receiving the replacement keypad I again called customer support and inquired about the keypad and was told it was on back order and they would call back later that day to confirm shipment... Well that was almost a month ago no word from Buffalo. I will update this review when I hear anything.
Again the safe is good , it will be excellent when I get my new keypad.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bam Horrible product
This safe is easy to pry door open when locked. The cylinders down the side of door move when turning the handle when locked. A simple pry bar will do the trick. I purchased 3 of these. They were all 3 returned. Would not recommend this brand.

I do not think I could find a better gun safe for the price. Everything worked as it should, looks great and is perfect for what I needed.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by SafeBuyer You get what you pay for.
You get what you pay for. I chose this safe over more expensive options from hunting and sporting goods stores. The electronic locking mechanism does not work and is very cheaply made. I'm stuck using the backup key to open and close the safe. Disappointing.
