Answer:
Based upon Hardiebacker and Durock manufacturer guidelines, it is recommended to user 20-30 screws per board depending on the stud spacing. Screws should fasten board 12-16" inches horizontally on center, and 8" apart vertically also on center.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good screws First time installing tile floor and I used these screws with a battery operated impact screw gun to lay down hardibacker boards and it was worked just fine. Self tapping so scews goes down easy. Took a star out because the heads are easily stripped when you messed up and go in at an angle... May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by These screws are tuff. & do their job I was helping my husband put these screws into our Hardee Backerboards that are on our floors. I used a battery powered drill motor to put in 900 + screws...they all were good & had no problems with any of them. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy for hanging cement board We just remodeled our bathroom and installed cement backer board on our shower/tub walls. We decided to use these specially coated cement board screws and the whole project was very easy, including creating a shower niche. I used a Bosch 18V cordless hammer drill in hammer mode at the slower speed as I found that the screws bite into the backerboard more easily with the hammer action. The screws set well and the flat shape of the head helps them sit just below the cement board surface which left a nice flat surface for the Redgard and thinset. Even when I had to set the screws close to the edge of the cement board, they went in smoothly and didn't deform the edge of the board. The screws have a square head and come with a driver bit that you can use to set them with. July 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent screws Best screws for hardiboard. Don't waste your money on rocker on screws. These worked perfectly. March 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Screws Best thing to use with Durarock, holds tight and doesn't over penetrate. January 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow! I used my impact driver to install cement boat for some tile that I had to lay. These grab tight and won't go anywhere once in. They are a giid price and include a bit that gave me no problems when it came to stripping. Good buy! November 3, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hardie not so hardy Package of screws included the square head bit. About 40 of the 200 screws stripped inside the screw heads. Used a new square headed bit from Hardie and it rounded off after installing 6 screws. October 17, 2014
