Most of the holes are pre-drilled, BUT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND power tools. Some of the holes didn't line up perfectly and had to be "modified." So in summary... buy or borrow a power drill/driver to put this together. It would have taken twice as long had I not had mine. In fact, my battery died and I had to borrow my father-in-laws! Read Less

Doesn't list a weight limit. Just says ages 3-10. I wouldn't recommend an adult swinging on it!

Customer Reviews

Somerset All Cedar Swing Playset is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality product and value Good Quality product and value. Well engineered. Comprehensive instructions made assembly very straight forward. While individual wood pieces are fairly thin, when assembled the play set is very sturdy. I was particularly pleased with the individual packages for the hardware (and the routine inclusion of an extra fastener for many packages to allow for dropped and lost pieces in the grass). That, coupled with the clear marking on all the wood made assembly a lot easier! I recommend taking the time at the beginning and organizing the wood pieces and hardware bags (a table adjacent to the work area for the hardware works great) as it will help speed assembly a lot. I also recommend drilling of pilot holes to prevent splitting. I was very pleased with the play set (as is my granddaughter and her friends) and recommend it to those looking for an economical set for small children.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product just as described This swing set is just as described and fairly easy to assemble. Everything needed is included and marked fairly well. Just lay things out before you start and get yourself familiar with each part. Some pre- drilled holes needed a bit more drilling but that happens in any pre-drilled project. Would recommend this to parents or grandparents looking to fin d a pretty sturdy swing set. It doesn't LOOK like it will be sturdy, but as you assemble and put things together, it is amazing at how sturdy it becomes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The kids love It! We were gifted this for a house warming gift for my boys ages 3 1/2 and 18mo at the time. They absolutely love it! Love that the swings and bars can easily move up and down as they grow or we get smaller children. We ordered a baby swing with it and it is great. Everything is interchangeable and easy to take off or put on. I will say the instructions were wrote for a rocket scientist but between 4 adults we got it figured out in a weekend. Also a few of the pieces were beat up from being inside the box and some were really rough and needed sanded down. I will have to cover the whole playground with water seal this winter to protect those spots and then once a year I'm hoping will keep it looking nice. I would have loved to see it be made out of more composit material instead of wood for less maintenance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! I bought this swingset in April for my 2 1/2-year-old twin boys and they absolutely love playing on it every day we've just introduced the swings to our six month old and he enjoys it as well I can't wait to see them all playing on it as the spring arrives

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Playset I assembled this on my own and it took 14.5 hours. All part of the process. Well worth the time for my grandson. It is well built and very sturdy. Must ensure its on perfectly level ground. Well worth the cost.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Planning is key Some confusion with which bolts and nuts go where but overall good product. Plan on about 3 8 or so hour days and lay it all out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but not great Bought this after reading other reviews stating it was sturdy, so I'm a little disappointed. While it is pretty sturdy, it creaks and moves slightly whenever I'm swinging my 4 year old son (36 lbs). The manual states it is intended for kids age 3-10. My 2 year old loves it and so does my 4 year old. I doubt that when they're 10 though that it is going to hold up. That being said, I've swung on it (slowly) and it held me. I don't feel particularly safe on it though, but again, it's not intended for an adult. As for the look... I love it. Looks great and the kids love playing on it. So no problems there. It took quite a while to put it together, but that was expected. It had all the parts and everything was labeled. The directions were pretty clear and I had no issues putting it together, it just took a long time. Expect ~16-20 man-hours total. Value is average because after I bought it from Home Depot, I found it less expensive elsewhere. So shop around!
