Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RainCityDIY Inconsistent product, requires finish work, but nice results
Be prepared for a significant amount of work if you want a good result with this product.
I attached three lengths of this product to my balcony railing for privacy and aesthetics.
Of the three lengths that I originally ordered, two were reasonably similar in finish, but the third was a very different hue and gloss. I initially thought the third item had been mislabeled, but when I had a 4th length delivered, it was also different from the three prior items, despite the label. Even within a single length, some pieces had a great deal of variation in hue and lightness.
All of the lengths had some minor cracking of the bamboo at delivery, none so bad that the product was unusable. After sitting on my balcony in the sun for a couple weeks, all of the lengths developed more cracks, one bad enough that a few pieces of bamboo were completely split and I ended up returning this length. If you are concerned with consistency and quality in the final result, be prepared for some trial and error.
The fencing comes untreated and unfinished. I was already planning to apply a finish, but it's worth noting that this is really not an optional step. The mahogany stain left a caked-on powdery residue in many parts, which immediately rubbed off on anything it touched and was easily dissolved by water. Some of the lengths also arrived with a significant amount of mold / mildew, though this generally scrubbed off pretty easily. Even in the short time the fencing sat on my balcony during the project, it bleached noticeably from UV exposure.
I scrubbed off the excess stain with water, allowed the fencing to dry, then applied two coats of a Behr Transparent Waterproofing Wood Finish (Natural color). I was not prepared for how much effort was involved here. Stripping the excess stain and then applying two coats of finish to the nooks and crannies on both sides of ~20ft of fence ended up taking me well over a dozen hours across multiple days of work, not including drying time. I did switch from a 3" to a 5" stain brush midway through, and this did speed things up a good bit. If you are experienced with treating wood I imagine this would go a bit quicker, but if you want a nice even coat with coverage of all sides, be prepared for a significant time investment. The resulting silky semi-gloss finish was totally worth it though!
Despite the UV protection in the finish, the side of the bamboo exposed to the sun has bleached to a near-blonde within a few weeks of installation. The side protected from the sun has mostly maintained its mahogany color, but if you're looking to install this in a location where the visible portion gets a lot of sun, be warned that this product seems to bleach out quickly no matter what you do. And I live in Seattle, so hardly an extreme environment. I've included some photos to give an idea of this issue.
After treating the wood, I attached the fencing to my balcony railing using weatherproof zip ties. This worked out surprisingly well, mostly due to luck in the location of the wire binding the bamboo pieces. It happened to be positioned such that it lined up with a horizontal bar in the railing when the fencing was positioned where I wanted it vertically. Actually, the position of the wire varied in one of the lengths of bamboo, which ended up being the one I returned, so beware of inconsistency here as well.
One issue I was worried about was rain leaching stain out of the nooks and crannies of the fencing and staining my balcony or running down onto the balconies below. After the first good rain, I did find two individual pieces of bamboo with small puddles of dissolved stain below them (I believe due to cracks in the top allowing water inside), but this cleaned up easily with water and has not been an issue after subsequent rains.
The end result looks really nice, and for my needs provides the perfect blend of aesthetics and privacy. My neighbors behind the building are about 50ft across a parking lot, and from that distance the fence provides good privacy. It would not be as effective for true privacy in closer applications such as a fence between backyards, since the pieces of bamboo have gaps up to an inch or so in places.
So, overall, a ton more work than I anticipated and lots of hassles with inconsistency and quality, but the end result really does look nice.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RNC404 Looks Good but a little shorter than 8'
Can't get this product in the Hawaii stores so I had to work with my Kapolei store to special order it. The product arrived in boxes but it was quite dirty. I scrubbed it with a simple green solution and let it dry before applying two coats of an UV oil based sealant. I zipped tied the product to my existing fencing. I love the black and red tones of this stained product. I hope the sealant lasts and keeps the stained color. My only issue with this product is that it does not measure 8' long. Its about 6" shorter than advertised.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bajababs Perfect fix for old fence.
We attached this to a rusted out wrought iron fence and it looks beautiful. The reason I did not give full marks is because I was not warned that the dark color doesn't even last 2 weeks. Had I know I would have varnished it with a quick spray of varathane. Now I will have to paint and varathane it all to make it dark brown again.

Bought this fencing to add privacy to my standard balcony fencing. The product was moldy, and the finish looks like it would wash off at the slightest hint of water - not good for outdoor deck use; so back to the store it went. Did not want to order again, and will look elsewhere. It would be good to be able to see this type of product in person at the store...to determine if it works in a garden, etc.

The bamboo fencing is a good product. The Bamboo is ok, there were some splits that I'm not sure what will happen to when we get freezing wet weather in the winter. The wire holding the bamboo together is not coated and was rusty. This is probably not a good product for coastal areas.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sandie Exactly what I was hoping for!
The mahogany bamboo is exactly what I hope for. The color is deep and rich, quality is very good and consistent. I used it as my side wall covering of my hot tub and it looks great!
