Had an old ugly chain link fence that offered very little privacy between neighbors. Used the existing chain link fence to provide the support for the new bamboo fence. I did quite a bit of research after reading numerous reviews which pointed out hidden problems and challenges. Here's what I learned: must install a couple of inches above the ground; must install using galvanized wire that is thick enough to provide stability but thin enough to bend. Do not use 24 gauge since it is too flimsy. Do not use plastic ties: Install each section with the side up that will not let water sit in it, I believe it is called the knuckle side up; Make sure you cut away as much vegetation as possible from your existing chain link fence before you begin the project or you will be sorry; have a wire cutter and needle nose pliers ready; use a power washer with a bleach solution to spray down the entire fence after installing; let it dry for a day or two and then paint the fence with a very expensive product called TWP ( total wood protectant); make sure your neighbor allows you to go on their side of the yard so that you can easily attach the fence using the galvanized steel gauge wire and finally make sure that you have 2 people to install this fence since it is too heavy and cumbersome for one person to handle on their own.

We love this! We have a balcony and 2 little kids, so we needed something to deter them from climbing over the railing. We bought the 4' high fence and screwed it into our existing balcony. It worked great and looks and feels like we're suddenly in Hawaii! I love it! It still lets in a good amount of light but is so strong and sturdy. I just love it! Highly recommend!

We ordered a couple rolls of this fencing to add some privacy and an attractive accent to the street-facing portion of the chain link fence in our yard.
We considered many possible options to cover the chain link and add privacy (thin reed fencing, plastic privacy slats, privacy screen). The reviews for this product stood out. And once we received it, we were able to see why. It is beautiful in person! Such lovely, thick bamboo stalks make a really pleasant addition to our fence.
Installation over chain link is a 2 person job. We used zip ties and diagonal wire cutters, and finished up in about an hour. We installed it over a 12 1/2' section of fence (including a gate), and it took the majority of two rolls to do this. We have about 4' of the product left (plus several loose pieces of bamboo). The breaks in our fence around the gate did make us waste several slats. If you are covering a straight section with no breaks, it will go further. The wire it's mounted on is sturdy, so we had to work with it a little to get it to track properly on the uphill section. But overall, we're pleased with the result.
Everyone who sees it asks if it's real bamboo. The stalks are so pretty and heavy, I guess they think it's artificial.
The instructions say it would be best to seal this product to protect it from fading and weathering, but that's not too much of an issue for a small section like this. Wish we could afford to cover all the chain link with this product! We love it!

We bought this as an affordable option for blocking out the neighbors yard, and having a backdrop to plant against. It looks fantastic and was quick and easy to install with zipties to the existing chain link fence. Much more affordable than the wooden privacy fence we put on another property line, but yet they blend together nicely.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by pat5208 Very rustic and inconsistent color.
This fence is made up of bamboo poles tied together, the length, with three pieces of wire. The only way to secure it to your frame is by screwing it in. Bamboo is hollow. If you screw in too tightly you will split the bamboo which is undesirable. You must pre-drill each hole before screwing it in and don't screw in too far. Use tan colored decking screws, at least 2" long, so you can attempt to hide the fact that you had to use screws in the first place. I bought two rolls of natural bamboo fencing, each 8 feet long. The first roll was nice looking with hints of brown and green highlights. The second roll was plain colored bamboo. The color distinction is evident. Otherwise a nice product.

I purchased this fence to hide my pool equipment area and to add a little tropical feel to the backyard. Mission accomplished. I used 3 YARDGARD fence posts to secure the fencing, and it is quite sturdy. Took no time at all. I can already tell that I'm going to have to use some weatherproofing on it, but I am in Arizona so the fence really takes a beating from the sun.

I shopped quite a bit on the internet and this was the best value I found. The quality did not disappoint. Excellent for use as decor, wrap around that tiki bar, etc. I used tan colored deck screw to hold it in place, came out looking good.

I purchased this bamboo because it looks well made and I felt it would last longer than the reed fencing. It took 2 adults to left and secure the fence. We used zip ties to attach the fence around our pool. I rate the fence at 3 stars because it is not protected from UV rays and funguses. I purchased outdoor water sealant that proclaims to protect from uv damage and funguses. The spray application just ended up beading up on the fence. So we used paper towels to spread the sealant. The fence did come with some dark spots and gaps in between which is ok with us. I just want the fence to last years and not one season. The fence has been up a couple of weeks.
