I already purchased and installed this knobs on my doors but want to convert 4 of them to privacy. Do I only need to buy the locking mechanism or is there any other components that are needed?

Answer:
Yes you may "convert" them. You'll need to purchase the appropriate PRIV (privacy) latch and two new rosettes, per door, This allows for the pin on one side and emergency unlock on the opposite. Best to call Baldwin first, tell them what you have and get part numbers for exactly what you need. Knobs or levers do NOT need to change.

Answer:
Baldwin Model # 5025 150 PASS 2-3/8 SET does not have the compatibility to convert in to a privacy knob. The interior mechanics are not compatible.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wished that Home Depot carried this in the "Lifetime Finish"!!! Love this product - but the only cons against this product is the following: 1. Home Depot does not carry the "Lifetime Brass finish" - so I didn't have the option of buying it; the Lifetime Brass finish is so wonderful and it still shines year after year! Hey buyer for Hardware for Home Depot -- get the Lifetime Brass Finish for this product!! 2. There is a holding screw for the rosette plate. All the older styles made in 1982 did not have the screw to hold the rosette plate in place. This new style holding screw does not keep the rosette plate flush against the door; it seems to come unloose after various uses of the door. 3. I searched on the web and found that Home Depot was the better value since other websites said they had it in stock but really informed me once I was going to buy it - that it would be a 2 to 3 week order. And also that Home Depot included free shipping with my order. Other than those two disappointments which I could not give an Excellent rating due to Home Depot and not Baldwin Products - although they need to go back to the original rosette plate without the little screw-in to hold this rosette plate - which is now the new style... why is it that a great product by Baldwin has to have a design change when it worked so well!!!
