In standard residential door hardware, you seem to have several "lines" or "levels". Are these "value" differences? Also, what styles are there so that i can find a particular styl that I like and search just for that style?

Hello LPJR, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question.
The word "passage" indicates a door knob or lever set that has no locking function. It has a latch, and is also often called a "hall and closet" set, as you would not normally lock these doors. Also you may find the same style and color in a "privacy" set. These privacy sets, also called "bed and bath", have a turn or button lock on the inside, and usually a hole in the outside knob for emergency access. They don't have keys. Lastly, you will find "keyed entry" sets for the outside entrance access. They use keys.
I hope this helps,
Chris
