Customer Questions & Answers

Why won't the blinds shut completely

The blinds shut only about 75% one way (the more logical direction for better darkness, blind blade pointing up on the room side). The other way it shuts better, but lets in the strong sunlight (top down). Is there a way to fix this problem?
Asked by: Monika
No matter which way they are closed they let in an enormous amount of light. They do not darken a room more than 20% and are so cheaply made that they break at the cords.

Is the bar itself cut able as well, or only the blinds.

I need the entire 44 inch blind to cut down to 42, bar and blind. Is this Possible
Asked by: Anonymous
Do not bother. These are horrible blinds in every way. Bali used to make good blinds but now they have so much space between the slats, no matter which direction you close them, that you may as well not have blinds. Just a useless product. Easy returns: that's the good news.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the money but... I recently purchased enough of these blinds to do a whole house. Unfortunately 2 have issues with the drawstring. One wont release back down, and one has a broken string coupler. They are good solid blinds and remove most light. Do not use Home Depots rule about cutting a half inch from your wood to wood measurements. They dont mount like traditional blinds, and now I have an unwanted gap on both sides. Consumers beware the person that cuts them. Cut them to your EXACT wood to wood.

They let in an enormous amount of light between the slats. AND they are so cheaply made that one blind broke the 3rd time I lowered them. The remaining 3 Bali blinds I have from Home Depot bought not even one month ago, are showing signs of their defects with the cords. They are a pathetic and terribly cheap product. I will return the remaining ones next week.

I ordered blinds on line because they did not have the size that I desired at the store. The blinds were cut too wide. I returned them to the Aberdeen, MD Home Depot store for a refund. I waited until the holidays were good and over then I had a home depot associate order them from the store. I got what I ordered. My husband went yesterday to order more blinds. This time Kathy, a Home Depot employee of seventeen years helped him. AHHHHHHHH to my surprise he came home with the blinds in hand. Apparently you can purchase these blinds in the store and they can cut them to size too! Here's the kicker, they were half the price and she was able to cut them to the exact size. I do like the blinds. For inexpensive blinds they are sturdy and block out light. So I would recommend the blinds but not the service.

Not great for privacy since the blinds only gave down and you can still see through from the opposite side. This needs to be fixed. Just a thought.

Here is the review, ready?: They are NOT BLACKOUT BLINDS. They are the standard, normal plastic mini blinds you see everywhere. They do not blackout jack ####. Returned these immediately. And not just that, but they only closed one direction. I tried winding them so they closed the other direction and the blinds' range of motion stopped before they were closed. See photo for how much light came through when they were all the way closed in the downward position.

Not only is this extremely difficult to put up, but it is not even close to blackout. There is barely any difference between having the blinds open and closed. You can't tell as well from the picture below, but there is so much light coming into our bedroom now. If you do decide to buy these and want to do an indoor mount, you need to pick up washers to put between the top of the window and the included brackets. That seems to make it easier to install, but we still have one that we have not been able to install. Definitely not worth the money or hassle.
