Window is 35 1/2" for width do I buy 35" or 36"?

I measured our windows at our new house and the opening inside the window is 35 1/2" I don't know if I should by 36" or 35"? Can anyone provide feedback?

did you measure inside the window pane? if it is 35 1/2 then you should buy a 35 (if you are installing the blinds on the inside of the window)

I need 3pair of the 72Width x 72Height.......HELP!!! Thanks.

I think you will find that very heavy. My blinds are very wide and yet the window is short, so I removed a lot of slats, and it is still heavy. Is there any way you can split the window into two or three blinds?

What is the actual width? Is it trimmable?

The 72W x 64L blinds states under Specifications that the 'Blind Width Range' = '70.5+', but under 'Trimmable Width' = 'No'. These two specifications seem to contradict each other. Is the actual blind width 72 or 70.5 and is it trimmable? Thanks.

if these blinds are a bit too long lengthwise, can i take them to the local Home Depot to get cut?

my windows are 36" wide.

I don't think you can have them shortened at the store. Instead, use a utility knife and shorten them yourself. Mark the length you want and cut the blinds on a hard surface (sheet of drywall or something similar). You have to push hard as you cut - also, I would use a straight edge, to make sure you get a nice clean cut.

Customer Reviews

Frost White 2 in. Vinyl Mini Blind - 72 in. W x 64 in. L is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good alternative to 1" slat mini-blinds. Seem to be better made than typical mini-blinds. Attaching hardware is rugged steel vs. plastic. They look great when open or closed and let in much more light due to the 2" slat spacing. Better privacy when closed. Highly recommend if you are tired of the old mini-blind look and want more visibility out your windows. Bottom line is they just look better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value I installed 2 window blinds in 1 hour. Each a different size in our bedroom. It makes the room look fresher and crisper. Easy installation was plus!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The slats vinyl blinds looks nice in my bedroom. I have total privacy and the price is right. Home depot is the best if you need to buy any type of window or door covering. Their blinds and shades are in good quality, and at a low price as well, who can beat that.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap! Short term, they work These blinds are el-cheapo. I've had them in 15 windows for 8 years. The top trim has broken off just about all of them. A few of the turn rods have broken. Eventually they will sag in the middle, especially if they are over 60 inches in width. They do not have enough strength to support their own weight. Ie, you will need to hold the bottom of the blinds and support it as you use the cord to move them up and down. Using the cord by itself to open them fully will result in broken mounts and the dreaded crack of the locking mechanism. The thin, cheap plastic around the mechanism will crack off and that's when it's time to replace. It's not repairable at that point. They do look nice when new. If are looking for something long term, look elsewhere, as you will end up paying more in the long run for these. Under 5 years? Go for it (the next owners may not like you!).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Got What I Paid For The size of the slats on the blinds were just right on the smaller windows in my Florida room. They brought in just the right amount of light and gave the porch a very clean look. The right blinds for the right price. My only complaint is the fact that the blinds weren't long enough for the width of the window. I compensated by installing them an inch or two lower than I had expected them to be. They still worked great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great item Didn't want to spend the money on blinds for 4 windows, but these were on sale (daily deal) for $5 each and it was the best $20 I have ever spent. They make the room look fresh and new, they were a breeze to put up, and are perfect. We have 2" wood blinds in the main rooms of the house, but these are great for the guest room, office, etc, especially for $5 each.
