These blinds do exactly what they advertise; they darken the room. If you need complete blackout, these are not the blinds to choose, but if you just want your room dark enough to sleep without bright morning light from waking you, they work fine. I rated the product as 4 stars, because the instructions for installing the blinds onto the brackets were very poorly documented, and the pictures were not clear. The installation instructions overall were not well done, but we were able to figure it out. The blinds themselves are of good quality for the price. I would buy them again.

Purchased for use on two windows in a garage. Previous vinyl blinds yellowed. The quality and price were what I wanted for these windows.

Bought 2 of these, both had issues with support strings. First one had line twisted around other and had to be taken apart. Second one fell apart when taking out of box, knot on bottom was not adequately secure. 100% failure on both!

As far as I can tell these are as good as the ones from the local independent blind shop or the online shops I have bought from before that charge several times as much. These have been holding up just fine for the several months I've had them and the quality of the materials is better than expected at the price point. Installation was easy following the instructions which are actually pretty well written. Of course they are aluminum, if you manage to bend one of the slats you are not going to be able to completely fix it or if you pull super hard on the cord something will probably break eventually but treated with care I think these will last a long time.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by AlmaMahler Terrible brackets and instructions
My husband worked for over an hour to try and install these blinds. I don't know how the brackets are expected to give the blinds any type of support. The included instructions are horrible and pointless. After reading other reviews that these blinds are not even very light filtering, I took them right back to Home Depot and we went with the generic cheap ones. The return was easy.

Perfect fit . Had to dump the brackets that came with. I needed my shades to go across the window about 3/4 the way up as I have a 6 ft high window in my kitchen that has separate windows that open out on top in my 1920's apartment. I bought a pair of metal brackets used for the higher end shades that lock over and securely holds. The color is very nice, more of a light bronze. These are definitely an upgrade from those horrid plastic numbers. I'm so glad I made this purchase. Instead of spending more money on the expensive shades, I bought these because they are stylish, practical and if I at anytime in the future I have a need to replace these, I will buy another and pop it in those brackets.

The End Caps for the top rail were very difficult to push into place, and the brackets that hold the top rail were also difficult to snap the top rail into.

I have installed eight of these blinds and we like the color very much. The quality of the fins are very poor, can't believe something could possibly be built so thin. They probably will bend the first time the wind blows.
