Instructions were clear and to the point. Installation was straightforward and simple. This replaced a pedestal sump pump, and is so much quieter. It's been running like a champ for a month. We lost power once in that time, and the backup pump worked as expected.
I have two minor issues with this pump: 1) the vent hole on the backup pump outlet pipe sprays water out of the pit when it runs. As we couldn't find a battery box for the battery locally, this means that until I made a cover for the pit that the battery was in danger of getting wet when the backup pump ran. Not good. 2) The plug for the main pump, which is labeled "Dual Float Controller", is 3.75" by 3.25". It so wide and tall that if I plugged it directly into an outlet that nothing else would be able to be plugged in beside or above it. I currently have it on a small shelf next to the outlet with a 1 foot extension cord plugging it in to the outlet so that we can also plug the battery charger into the same outlet block. Eventually I hope to get a 6 foot cord and rig up something a little nicer for it.

Easy to install. This was our second one in four years, so we took the old one out, inserted the discharge line plugged it and away we went.

the unit installed very quickly and easily. its all plastic but when dealing with water its probably the best option. directions were basic and could have been better but it was easy to figure it out. since I have a steady flow of water coming in I needed some peace of mind that if I wasn't home and the power went out that my basement would not flood and this appears to fit the bill. I would recommend this product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tom Installation of 1/3 combination sump pump
The pump was relatively easy to install because the back-up pump was already assembled to the primary pump. It appears to be a quality product, although it hasn't been installed long enough to make that determination. I ordered their new maintenance free battery, and it was difficult to get the fluid sensor to stay on the positive battery terminal as I tightened down the nut on the terminal.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Infiniti9 Great Product for Tight Fit
Needed battery backup for very tight fit into existing enclosed sump pump space. Because of minimal space to maneuver, this compact pump was the only known product that could be retrofitted into the space and to marry up with existing PVC piping arrangement. Works like a champ, although not yet had occasion for actual power outage use. And a very good price point to boot.

Well worth the money . This thing is quiet! No knocking sound when it stops either. It's like it's not there.

Bought it about a year ago and haven't needed it.
Then hurricane Sandy hit us in New Jersey.
I wasn't sure how the system was going to work once the power went out.
I was worried to got to sleep because I wasn't sure how it was going to work.
I checked it every half hour because my basement floods real quick.
After awhile I fell asleep and woke up the next morning and it worked great, not a drop of water in the basement.
Once I hooked up the generator I was able to power the pump with electric.
Bit it is one of the best investments I made.
It really relieved a lot of stress.
If you are thinking about buying one, don't hesitate go and get it!

This turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It was actually as easy to install this pump as advertised! Solid design, great features, with a primary and a secondary pump plus battery backup.
