Even though the instructions on the product carefully explains how the product works to maintain a constant feeding for an extended period - the response from Bayer seems to be providing instructions for a different product that requires mixing with water and applying as a solution. There is a contradiction between what the packaging reads and the Bayer response. This is a timed release product. If you dissolve it with water it melts the granules and causes you to over fertilize your plants, i.e. six weeks of fertilizer and insecticide applied at once. The container states that you measure out the granules and sprinkle them on the soil around your plant. After you have worked the granules under the soil for an inch or two then water the plant. A normal watering or rain fall only dissolves a portion of the granules. If you read this webpage closely you will see "No mixing required" as a positive point. If you look at the pictures closely you will see a demonstration of the granules being applied dry to the soil under the plant being treated. Download the PDF to get a much better understanding of how to use this product. Hope this helps! Read Less

Hi batman,
The amount of water to be applied is not critical. The amount of product is more specific.
Apply one half of a cap full of product per foot of plant height, evenly distributed around the shrub or for every 12 square feet of flower bed. Roses will require twice as much product, or one cap full.
Apply water to the soil after you apply the product as you would normally water the plant. More Read More

Apply water to the soil after you apply the product as you would normally water the plant. More product is released each time you water or each time it rains on the plant.
Repeat this application every 6 weeks.

Hi Hummingbug,
I am assuming that your gardenias are in a pot with soil in it and not a hydroponic system where there is no soil. Very few common plants can thrive in standing water for long. This systemic product is designed to remain near the top of the soil and dissolve a little more with each watering as the fertilizer and insect repellent trickle down through the soil. The more water that you flush through the pot the more insecticide and nutrients just flow out the bottom of the pot. Water only until the water starts to exit from the pot. Excessive watering serves no purpose. One of the major benefits of drip irrigation is that you can calibrate the watering system to provide only enough water to water the roots and no more. I hope that this helps with your question. Be sure to place the pellets under the soil to prevent them from washing away. I have been having great results with this product and highly recommend it. Answer:
Hi Z66,
Yes, I see no reason why it would not work well for petunias. Just be sure to place the pellets under the soil an inch and a half to keep them from floating away when watered.
Hope that this helps, and happy gardening. DJK

For me it depends on how big the roses plants are. For big plants I use two full capfuls, for smaller ones I use one or less caps.

4 lb. All-in-1 Rose and Flower Care Granules is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 73.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bye Bye Japanese Beetles Came home from a business trip on Saturday to find that Japanese Beetles had invaded my knock out roses - an entire flower bed of them. The Japanese Beetles were visibly nesting in the petals and had eaten a good amount of the leaves. Sunday morning, I applied some Bayer Advanced Rose and Flower Care spray (connected to a hose) and the beetles died within 10 minutes. I then followed up with Bayer Advanced Rose and Flower Care combined feed and pest/disease protection. Bye, Bye Japanese Beetles! Hello healthy blooms and leaves! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stuff! I love the fact there is a 3 in one application. Kills off the bugs after a few days, so if you have a problem get a topical spray and also use this for the long term. I did suffer from blackspot and rust last year, but it was so wet I don't know if anything could have helped my roses. I also used this on my reblooming lilacs and they did very well with it. I am definitely getting more for this year. I wish it came in a bigger container, that is my only gripe. I have over 40 rosebushes and need a lot of this to treat them, plus other annuals. I highly recommend this for your roses as well as other flowering plants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Spraying Needed This Season! I have about 70 rose bushes: miniatures, tea roses and grandifloras. Every year in the past they were ruined because of black spot disease. A few bushes in particular, never bloomed much at all because all the leaves would fall off because of black spot. This year I used All in One Rose and Flower Care for the first time and had no black spot at all on any of my bushes...and no aphids or Japanese beetles either. What a joy not to have to spend all that time spraying my bushes every week. The product is fairly expensive but well worth it if you hate spraying as I do. My rose bushes never looked better than they have this year with lots of blooms. I was really proud of my rose garden this year. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bayer All in One Rose & Flower Care Granules I use Bayer All in One Rose Care on my climbing roses, Knockout roses and azaleas. It is so easy to apply and gives total insect and disease control as well as fertilizer. Amazingly Bayer All in One Rose Control lasts for six weeks! I have been raising roses for over 30 years and this is by far the best product I have ever used. The neighbors enjoy and envy the beautiful and long lasting blossoms. When they as how I do it, I simply say “Bayer All in One Rose Care”. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for roses! If you have roses this is a must have product. This is an all in one product and fertilized and keeps diseases away. If you have roses you know they need to be sprayed with chemicals all the time. By using this it eliminates the need to spray because this gets right into the roses system and keeps them problem free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Also Works on a Serviceberry Shrub/Tree We just landscaped our home in November 2014, and that included planting over 100 perennials, trees, and shrubs. This included 20 rose bushes (knockout and coral). We have treated the roses with this product and these flowers are doing great. We also planted a serviceberry tree/shrub and it began to lose its leaves in late June; the leaves would turn yellow and drop. We have treated the serviceberry twice with the three component (fertilizer, disease control, insect control) product and the tree/shrub stopped dropping its leaves, has new shoots coming from the base of the plant, and is doing well. We also water it by a sprinkler system for 20 minutes a day, every other day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Revitalizes sick roses, apply & then water My roses were very sick with black spots & yellow leaf blight. I applied BAYER Rose granules per the directions ( one capful per rose plant), watered the application areas, and forgot about them, Ten days later I looked at them again and couldn't believe it was the same roses. Now healthy with no sign of leaf diseases and numerous new blooms appearing. This product works and I only wish it wasn't so expensive.
