Imidacloprid is the exclusive insecticide for official/professional use in eliminating aphids, whereas Neem and other organic insecticides have no effect whatsoever on aphids, despite the claim on the label. There is a homemade organic insecticide that completely eliminates aphids, though I have not tracked-down the ingredients yet. I believe it is a (chili) oil (or soap) base. Read Less

Answer:
Yes it does. If you have Aphids on your roses already insecticidal soap will kill the existing ones then use this product to keep them from coming back. It is early spring now and I already have it in the ground for my budding roses. Good luck~ Also lady bugs work the best for aphids and can be purchased at most Home Depot stores.

It gets rid of everything. You'll have flowers but no bees to pollinate them. No worms to loosen your soil, no ladybugs to eat the aphids...do I need to continue?

Answer:
Hi Di,
The active ingredient, imidacloprid will protect the roses systemically, from within the plant. Time is necessary for the chemical to travel to the leaves, so if your plants are already infested, a topical spray of aphid killer may be required to quickly kill the aphids.

5 lb. 2-in-1 Systemic Rose and Flower Care Ready-to-Use Granules is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my go to products I've used this for years to fertilize & proactively protect various shrubs from insects listed on label. On 1st application, because ingredients have to work their way up thru root system before being effective. I also use a topical application to start controlling insects. It's best to start using this early in the spring & continue throughout the growing season. I also have used their 3 in 1 product as well when disease is present or expected from previous occurrences.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! Use for two climbing ever bearing bushes in front of my home. The bushes are 12 years old and climb over a arbor. The product is simple to use and has worked very well to keep these roses healthy and blooming for their whole life. I also use for a different type outdoor plant which is multi colored and bushy. The product has given these two plants what they need to improve their appearance and helped them grown. Note I do not have a green thumb so products like this were designed foe me and also I follow the instructions and don't get carried away applying the products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product As the name implies, it acts as feed and a systemic. Not only does it work well on roses, it is an excellent fertilizer for crape myrtles, Indian Hawthornes and star jasmine. The granules release slowly, thereby feeding and healing the shrubs or crapes over a long period of time. The results are in the vibrant blooms. It is a can't miss product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great flower and shrub protection! This is the best stuff ever! It protects against the bugs, fungus and other issues that can kill a plant as well as provides needed nourishment. I have saved many plants from being attacked and use it to prevent attacks on all my new additions to my garden.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bee Killer? I don't think so... I have hundreds of bees around my Delilahs and roses. Only time I saw dead bees in when I used a spray which also shocked my roses... lesson learned. I have 35 rose bushes and would use nothing else! Roses love food and don't like to be sprayed... I would keep it away from your veggie garden though... and don't use if you make tea from your rose petals.
