Buying the extra filter pack is money well spent because you can exchange the filter instead of removing, washing and replacing in two steps. The filter works great. It keeps debris, and muck from getting inside and all around the impeller. It is easy to clean for reuse.

The filter is a reusable filter, when clogged or gummed up you just slide it off and rinse it in hot water, slide back on and you are in business.

As far as flow? or size of pond?
If it's flow that depends on how high above the water line that you are pushing the water. The package has a chart for that.
If you mean how many gallons in the pond and circulation, that's also something to consider regarding filtration and region. I live in a region that promotes algae growth and I have fish in my 1000 gal. pond. I use two of these pumps that run

If you mean how many gallons in the pond and circulation, that's also something to consider regarding filtration and region. I live in a region that promotes algae growth and I have fish in my 1000 gal. pond. I use two of these pumps that run three water features and keep my pond crystal clear. If you don't have fish you could use one of these for a 1000 gal. pond and be effective. Place the pump at the lowest point in the pond for oxygen circulation and cleaning.

Answer:
Yes, you can attach a 1" tube to it and clamp it down with a hose clamp. Keep the filter attached to the pump or you'll clog the pump. If the water is that dirty check the filter a few times to make sure it's not filled up with the muck.
150 gallons is a very small duck pond....

Yes, it can and does. The opening to the pump is 7/8" though. I would suggest getting a bit of WD40 and spray the control and twist a bit, should come right off. Make sure you clean the WD40 off after, especially if you have fish.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Pump/Pond Filter For my pond, it is just a teeensy bit more than what I needed, but it works very well! I do love it b/c I can play around with it. I wish I had more room for the fountain. They give you many different types of ?water flow-ers? - not a flower but a way for water to flow. I am happy that I bought this product. I have many options with it. July 19, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cleaned the Pond Overnight The pump was simple to assemble and worked from the start. The pond cleaned up overnight. Very happy with purchase. June 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by happy with pump This pump works great for my 400 gal Koi pond. The pump does need to be weighted down to keep it upright as it tips over easily. I have cleaned the filter at least once a day and after a week the water is now clear. I am happy with the pump and have ordered a couple extra filters to make it handier when the filter needs to be cleaned. June 15, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pond pump It should have threaded adapters that screw directly to pump. It has slip on fittings that pop off with water pressure or get stuck in pump and you can't change them if need. Water flow is very good though. Not bad for the price. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Pump Happy to find this pump still available. Will be replacing original pump that has been in use almost 8 years! May 14, 2016
