CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 1.6 out of 5 by 27 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by two time loser I purchased one in the spring (April) and it lasted until June. I replaced it with the same at home depot and it lasted until July. Both times the impeller (propeller blade) broke. Very cheaply built. I will do more research and buy online. I believe the one I had for 3 years I bought at Home Depot as well, but it was a Tetra. Eventually impeller went bad on it but different scenario and it lasted 3 years. My pond is about 700 gallons and I have always used a 1200 gph. I may try changing from sponge type filter to slotted intake that will allow more debris to pass through. Clogging of filter may be putting to much stress on impeller. July 10, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Worth It! I purchased one for my waterfall/pond. I no sooner plugged it in and the the cam that engages with the impeller broke. I contacted the company and they sent a new shaft and impeller. It lasted about a year with moderate use and it quit working. I pulled it apart and saw the shaft and bearings(?) were shattered and the magnet was scored. I again ordered a new assembly and it came rather quickly. When I installed the new parts (after I thoroughly cleaned it) it ran for about 5 minutes and blew the breaker. I pulled it apart again and noticed the magnet was once again scored. I couldn't determine the cause of the scoring. I will say, when it was running it worked fine. Good water flow rate and fairly quiet, it just didn't last long considering the price. I bought a new pump by a different manufacturer from HD. It will arrive in about a week. December 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Working so far The pump has been working fine so far. The only issue I've run into is adapting to different sized tubing - the pump isn't threaded so you can't use a screw-on reducer. The other feature I wish the pump had was an auto-shut-off if the water level drops too low. I burned up a pump last year when a waterfall was disturbed by wildlife and basically drained itself. It would be more comforting to have a pump that could shut off to prevent damage. Other than that, it's working fine. Flow rate is solid. It's true that it won't pump nearly as much volume at height, but for features under six or so it does a solid job. I used two similar versions that were smaller - not enough oomph. This one did the trick though. July 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Waterfall pump The pump is fantastic. It is easy to install and works very well. It can be adapted to use a different filter for a pond set up very easily. Impressive for its small size. February 5, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Replaced twice... Disappointed with the quality... I replaced the exact same pump that had been working for me for the past three years, and I've had to return to the store twice to trade in the new ones because they stopped working after 3-4 weeks. Hopefully those two were duds and I'll have better luck with this new, new one. When it works, it works great... then it stops working. December 10, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by One of the worst pumps I've ever had I figured since the new redesign with the pre-filters it would work for more than three months. I’ve had three of these pumps and all of them have failed miserably. The worst part is there is no obvious reason they stop working. One day they just won’t turn on. It’s only a matter of time before they discontinue this pump and try to shove some other worthless pump onto the shelves. Avoid this pump and any other one made by Bekett unless you only need it for three months or you like to pay $110 for a new one each year. April 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nooo Goood!! Suggest Home Depot carry another brand of pumps. My pump lasted 1 1/2. Months Using a 500 gpm pump from another manufacture which is running strong for 3 + yrs know I will buy if there's value in the product I will spend more if I get more. Beckett products are ok if if they have no moving parts Home Depot please put better products on your self Jim R , Buff ny August 30, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BECKETT 1200 GPH WATERFALL PUMP Only had this pump 2-3 weeks before it just stopped working. It was on a 90 degree day and I didn't have time to look for another pump. Because I did not want my pond fish to die, I returned the pump and exchanged for another one. The filter is poorly designed and hard to fit any filter boxes. Don't trust this pump. I will be taking the other one back for a refund, hopefully before it STOPS WORKING AGAIN! June 24, 2014
