400 GPH Submersible Pond Pump is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fails quickly. poor design and build. no support My third beckett pump failed in three years. Im not buying another. The impeller is a fragile design and soft plastic. When a little tab wears off, you get no flow. When i replaced the pump many years ago, it was a solid usa mase beckett that worked for 7 years. The new one was much cheaper build from china. All of the ones since are the same poor quality. Price didnt go down either. Also note: i called Beckett many times after each failure to get help with remedy. I only managed to get a rep on phone once in the three year replacement cycle. They just gave me run around and offered nothing. I suggest anybother brand.

Did not work, I made the mistake of not trying out the pump before I installed it in the fountain. Unfortunately the fountain is too heavy for me and my wife to lift. I had my son help me lift the fountain and install the pump. Turned on and nothing. We had a commitment, so was not able to disassemble the fountain and check the pump. This morning disassembled the fountain enough to get to the pump. Tried the pump, nothing. Brought in an extension cord and ran to a separate power source that was working a separate pump. Nothing. Received a bad pump. -So in realality, the rating should be less than 1 star.

I needed a 12 inch lift for a fountain with a one inch hose of 8 feet.. didn't work. the fitting were very small and odd. I had to redo all of the hoses etc and then it didn't do the job. Bought another one from another vendor. It would work if you had smaller needs. A small fountain not a small pond. I typically get a couple of years out of a becket pump.

It would be nice to have something built onto the bottom to keep it from falling over though! We're using a brick to keep it stabilized in the pond.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good power, could be heavier. I have this pump in a 2ft deep part of my pond. It is reasonably stable, but blows over easily in strong winds. Adding a large base would help.
