Answer:
You can, just keep in mind the maximum lift. You want it to be high enough above the water level to splash in order to oxygenate the water. The max 80gph means it will pump a maximum of 80 gallons per hour. You don't need to pump the whole 125 gallons every hour.

Answer:
Yes, there is. One of the three attachments is a control Valve.
As a reminder though, try not to let the pump run while that valve is closed for extended periods. You could damage the pump.

Answer:
Yes there is. I have mine set at max and do not know what the amounts would be for the GPH at the lowest up to the 80GPH (?) would be, but the specs do mention that the maximum flow (gallons per hour) is only 60.
The adjustment dial is on the end of the pump that is not shown, and if you were to look at the "product overview" it is stated: "•Adjustable flow control"

Answer:
Yes, as long as you are not making it travel very high, those pumps will lose pressure at a few feet.
For example, if you are draining a 2 foot deep fish pond try to end the hose in a lower area as that siphon effect will help the pump. If you're bringing the water up two feet and then lifting it in a bucket you "MAY"(I'm not a technical engineer, it may be more or less) get the pump to run 20 GPH

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Need a new pump for water fountain The pump is doing the job. My mistake I should have purchase the next size up. June 29, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beckett 80 gph submersible fountain pump Pump does not do what it said, water barely flows up a foot, not 21/2 feet. May 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small pump for a fountain This pump is great for a small patio fountain. If you install it more than 6 inches under water it won't make that nice water sound. It will just circulate the water if you place it deeper. It has little suction cups to keep it in place, but I found they didn't work on plastic . I had to put a rock on top to keep it in place May 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Made to burn out just after warranty. Pump seems to last only 1 year. Wish home Depot would carry better product. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Fountain Pump! This is an amazing pump. Nice and small for as strong as it is! Working well in my 5 tier fountain which is 2 feet tall. Love the inline adjustable valve for water control. February 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 80 gph submersible fountain pump I have not as yet installed the pumps as it is winter and will do so when the weather warms up. On appearance and quality and price I give the product 5 stars. I will complete the rating of performance after installation. January 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst purchase ever... I had ordered this same model on Amazon two weeks prior and it broke down. Based on the gallons with extra added, I ordered this same product again from Home Depot. The pump is BAD...began by making a grating noise and now it pumps, but, for how long? October 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The product worked perfectly I was searching on line and in-stores for a solar pump and could not locate a small device for the small water fountain as pictured. I decided on the electric version and located the Submersible Fountain Pump at Home Depot for the best price. The instructions were easy to follow, install was simple and it operated appropriately. I love the valve to adjust the amount of water pressure to release through the tubing to properly set the flow of water to your needs. I would recommend this product! May 27, 2014
