Answer:
Heavy enough that I have not even attempted to assemble it. I guess that means it is a sturdy table once assembled, and I hope to get there some day, but my need has not been great enough to deal with it.

While this light-duty table is capable of supporting good amounts of evenly distributed weight, setting heavy objects or applying force along its edges or at its corners alone may cause the convenient removable tabletop to come unseated from the grooves that hold it in place at the opposite quadrant. If the quick set-up and knock-down feature of this attractive, well-designed table is of lesser importance to you, you may want to consider securing the tabletop to the 2 vertical leg pieces—thus allowing it to accommodate a greater amount of unevenly distributed weight along its edges and corners. To secure and stabilize the tabletop, drill a fastener (screw) down through the tabletop into each end of the 2 vertical leg pieces. Read Less

Answer:
The table top is 48 in wide (horizontally) x 35 5/8 in depth, and the table leg/supports are 34 ¼ in wide from each external edge (horizontally). It sounds like your mat is 3 ft x 5 ft, or close to it, so this table should fit well without being “bigger” than your mat.

Knock Down Plywood Work Table is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 60.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This table is a deal and very well built. I needed a wooden table that would break down and store flat in my van so I could take it to SCA events. This table is everything I wanted and needed. It is very well constructed out of 3/4 inch Birch plywood and goes together in a snap. I was worried that it would not be steady but it is rock solid with no side play at all. With a 3 foot by 4 foot top it makes a great dining table for my family. Definatly a good buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I expected The table is just what I wanted. It is sturdy enough to work off of, and I can finish it to match my room

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and versatile I bought this table initially to take camping, as I was looking for a breakdown cooking surface, but sanded and stained, the table now serves as a sewing and hobby work surface. The plywood veneer is not furniture-grade, but it is solid and stable, with no rough edges, and the work surface is large enough to handle small to mid-sized projects. Pieces assemble easily. I have not owned it long enough to store it, but I'd recommend storing it flat to minimize warping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Minimal and modern As someone who moves around a lot due to being with a military man, I've been on the hunt for lightweight and/or collapsable furniture to make moving easier. I love the material and the minimalist structure. It's actually quite modern looking and versatile, and at the moment I have it as our dining table/desk. I plan on getting a plexiglass or acrylic sheet to protect the top from damage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little table Nice table. It set up easily, but the instructions about which way to face the legs were slightly confusing. It is strong and able to support heavy projects, like my flat file. It would be a little heavy to move often, but I really like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Strong Work Table I ordered this table to support 60 lb. wine carboys in a cellar. I glued and finish nailed for maximum support. Then stained and finished with polyurethane. It came out great. It will easily support six aging wine carboys weighing in at over 300 lbs. There was very little sanding because it's built with a nicely sanded plywood not the exterior rough stuff. I built for a pertinent installation but it would work as stated as a take down table if one wanted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product, Quality Time w/ My Son I enjoyed putting this together with my son. Great project and definitely room to personalize. The actual pieces were precision-cut, which I appreciated vs. a cheaper kit. Would recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great way to extend work surfaces, lacks some rigidity Material is quality 3/4" plywood. Assembly is easy (tabs into slots kind of thing) and produces a 48" x 48" work surface. However, there is a little wobble since there is no hardware to tighten the play at the assembly points. This makes for rapid set up and breakdown, but it isn't a suitable base for power tool work unless used as in or out feed for a more stable surface like a table saw. Breakdown is into 5 pieces. The table ships in a cardboard box that is not suitable for storage. That makes it awkward to put away since it isn't feasible to carry all five individual pieces at once. It would be easy to make this table more rigid, but at the expense of convenience.
