CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Works great for a while... needs upgraded material for rubber gasket I use these to uplight my palm trees and in one other location in my landscape. The rubber gaskets that are designed to keep the water out don't work particularly well out of the box, unless you coat the gasket, bulb threads, and tip of the bulb with a thick layer of di-electric grease (sometimes called bulb grease - you can buy it at auto parts stores). Within a year, the gasket material cracks and they fail due to getting water into the socket assembly. For the price they're ok if you use di-electric grease. Without the grease expect a week or so of service before they start shorting out, eating bulbs, and rusting inside. July 24, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good for holiday season I used one during holiday season (December-January) - it came out perfect - completely dry inside, and I'll be buying another one to replace Stanley holder that has small funnel on it's end, which collected water - it was totally ruined in two months - lamp including. I can see complaints here that cuff won't hold a year around - could be - mine was 2-month span. The good thing is that cuffs are sold separately at Home Depot, and could be replaced. The reason I don't give 5 starts is its too short cord that's an inconvenience. December 9, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by shocked this spotlight was a good value, and it is made for the outside, but after a rain,it filled will water,I won't use again. July 10, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good option for landscape lighting. This landscape light has a rubber grommet that covers the area between the bulb and and the socket which helps to resist water intrusion. The cord is rather short, only about 12 inches. Use your own bulb (does not come with one). May 13, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ok Product This item works well for awhile. Even with the rubber gasket, water gets inside the socket. Once it does, it has no way to get out and corrodes the contact tab at the bottom of the socket. I change bulbs fairly regularly (different colors for different seasons). With each change the tab weakens, and eventually breaks off. In two years time, I've bought 4 of these...one will usually last about 6 months of everyday use. I have them articulated where the bulb shines upward on an outdoor wall. The only way to prevent water getting in the socket is to point it toward the ground, but that defeats the purpose of buying this product in the first place! May 15, 2012
