Answer:
Thank you for your interest in Bernzomatic products. This fuel, using a TS8000 torch will be able to bring thin aluminum above it's melting point. However, most importantly is safety. Never heat fuel lines, including empty lines. Residual fuel vapors can easily ignite. Please refer to a qualified welder or mechanic to address your specific auto repair issues.

Can I use this with my trigger-start propane torch?

I recently bought the trigger start propane kit but it takes a lot of time and every bit of heat to get it to work with copper pipes. I'd like to move up to this Mapp gas, do I need a new trigger-torch tip or can I use the same one I'm using with the propane? I'm sure I can but want to be sure/safe, thanks!

Answer:
This MAP-PRO gas doe not burn a lot hotter that regular propane so but might be adequate for your purpose, Unfortunately, they stopped producing the real MAPP hotter burning gas a few years ago. Get a swirl type torch,as it produces a hotter flame. The TS4000 and TS8000 can use both types (propane and MAP-PRO).

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not the original MAPP gas. This is not the MAPP gas sold before 2008. This gas burns only 150 deg. F hotter than propane, where the MAPP made before 2008 burned about 2000 degrees hotter. It's not worth the extra cost, unless you really need that 150 degrees I would stick to propane. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Gas This yellow, small gas cylinder lasts for over an hour. Pair it with the Bernzimatic TS8000 torch kit, and you can solder and desolder any copper pipe or fitting and heat parts. 100000000000000 times better than propane! August 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works like a champ I used this for enameling jewelry and it works perfectly. The flame is always at the right temperature and clamping it to my surface give me the perfect angle to work with. April 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely awesome. Short of having oxy acetylene torches, mapp gas is the way to go. December 8, 2012
