The Bernzomatic 3 oz. Lead-Free Rosin Core Solder is designed for use in electrical applications. Thanks to a rosin-core base this solder does not require a flux. This solder is perfect for use on speaker wire, motors, appliances, and general wiring.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wasted one day of my life I experienced what others have. I thought I'd bought a bad iron. It also fowls the tips. I did not know what was happening until I read other reviewers on both Home Depot and the Blue nemesis for this same product. There's little to no flux. The product doesn't work. June 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Utter Junk This solder is terrible, much like other reviewers have stated, this product has little to no rosin at it's core, trying to solder automotive grade wiring (wiring harness) proved to be quite difficult to do with this product. Wire insulation was melting before solder would flow properly, it just wouldn't stay on the wire. It would be a great product for metal-smith's and those who do work with silver & Jewelry I will not buy this again. July 30, 2015

I've used it for all kinds of electrical applications, but mostly on repairing musical equipment. I've rewired dozens of guitars, amps, effects pedals, patch cables, and speaker cabinets, and this stuff worked like a charm April 27, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Lead-free rosin solder This product has little or no rosin in it. Tested on copper 12 wire before using it on my application. The solder did not flow before the insulation melted, I had to flux the wires on the next test before the solder flowed in the splice. April 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible!! Tried two different tips on my soldering iron -- this stuff melts well enough, but doesn't spread out or flow or flatten or anything! Had to try to spread it around with the tip, and it would just cling to the tip and pull back it is -- just {Home Depot censored what I actually wrote... let's just call it WAY less-than-optimal!} stuff! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Complete Garbage! If possible I would give this zero stars. Tried using this to solder some electrical connectors onto copper wire. Solder would melt and then bead up instead of flowing. Just out of curiosity I tried some acid core solder and it worked perfectly. Confirmed what I already suspected. This solder was the problem. Perhaps Bernzomatic forgot to add the rosin flux but in any case, don't waste your money. April 27, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by this solder is not ok by its self This is supposed to be rosin core. But it doesn't flow unlesss you use flux. With flux ( like oatley from the plumbing section) the solder gets pulled right into the joint, so I think the manufacturer didn't put enough flux in the core. If you want to use this solder, buy flux August 31, 2014
