Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice little torch, but maybe they should be a disposable. After about 20-35 days, The Torch flame goes out very easily and at the most unconvient time. Then when you put fuel in the torch and then go to restart it, flames shoot out from the side of it. This is the second one that has the same problem happen. Thanks September 6, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very handy micro tourch What a handy device! I had to solder some 12 gauge copper wire together for an art project. My 40 watt soldering iron for electronics would just not cut it. Found this device for less than $10 and thought I'd give it a try. Glad I did. It worked great. I've found other uses - like heating shrink tube. AND IT IS EASY TO LIGHT. I used the gas lighter I use for the fireplace & grill. Worked great - no matches needed. April 12, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok Not for use outdoors. I bought it to ignite paper and cardboard in my burn barrel. The first thing I noticed is it does not ignite itself and the second thing I noticed is the wind will immediately knock it out. For what it is intended for it probably works fine. it would probably work well indoors for soldering. March 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SOLUTION FOR MICRO TORCH GOING OUT all torches need air flow to the 'rear' of the flame column. if this flow is restricted or cut off, you don't have a torch anymore you have a flame. this air flow is provided by the holes at the base of the flame tube. one can find these holes on the big propane torches and on this micro torch. what i did is cut out a small strip of soda pop tin and form it to a circular object slightly smaller in diameter than the base(where the holes are located). this makes a 'choke' that can restrict or completely cut off the air to the torch. one notices that when this flow is restricted, the flame will not go out nearly as easily as before. plus you can now fine tune the intensity. hope this helps ps- i too have used the radio shack micro torch and had a similar experience to another reviewer. this torch lasts much longer, even with daily use. and is less than half the price. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Worked great!....For an hour... I got this for heat treating small metal tubing. Pros: -The tip is all metal with a good amount of room to expel heat. I never once felt the pen itself get hot or was worried I would melt any plastic parts. -Adapter with the soldering and heat blower units is nifty. Easy to use, small and convenient. I never actually soldered anything with it but I tested it (attached it, lit it, inspected it, just didn't actually use it) briefly and it seemed useful and convenient. -The size was convenient and had a decent fuel capacity (30 minutes give or take on medium heat setting). Also was extremely easy to fill. -The pop out stand was helpful. I don't want to list this one as a pro or a con (I didn't mind it at all but some might) but it is worth mentioning: it doesn't have self ignition, you have to light it with another lighter or flints, etc. Cons: -Stopped working after just over an hour of total, yet continuous, use. I'm 99% sure it wasn't because of a plastic piece melting or anything like that. Was using it and it was working just fine. Turned it off and set it down. Picked it up one minute later to ignite it again, pushed the switch on. Nothing. No gas hiss. It stopped being able to expel gas. I made sure it was FULL on gas. Still nothing. I let it sit and checked to see if it started working again periodically over 90+ hours. Still does not work. I will be returning it immediately and will not buy one again. Also it should be noted that the image of this product on this website is scrunched. The pen more resembles a scaled up sharpie. Longer and thinner than pictured. March 24, 2014
