Answer:
Hopefully you didn't try to use these brazing rods on aluminum, because with pure aluminum having a melting temp just north of 1200 degrees F, and these needing about 1600 degrees F to melt... chances are you would no longer have your aluminum in its original shape or form!

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by They work well enough, but you only get 3 rods in the package. The fill material is a good bronze and the flux coating shields it well, in short, they work well. The description doesn't mention that the working temperature is 1620°F, 882°C, and the stated material strength is 60ksi. Compared to other retail offerings like the Lincoln Electric flux coated brazing rods also sold at Home Depot, these rods are an exceptionally poor value. The Bernzomatic WB5 is 3 3/32" rods with flux coating for $4, the Lincoln Electric KH515 is 1 lb which is 20 1/8" rods with flux coating for $6.50. Lincoln Electric also has 3/32" brazing rods for sale in home centers, but they are a special order item at Home Depot. June 21, 2015
