This hose extension is great to allow you to hold the torch at any angle and allows you to get into those tight locations without the tank getting in the way.

So much easier than holding on to canister. Provides for a lightweight, flexible solution

If you need to get into confined spaces with your torch, this could be the ticket. Works for me.

I used this to sweat some copper fittings for my sprinkler system. Previously I had tried to just use a propane burner attached directly to a small propane cylinder, and that did not give me enough maneuvering room since the fittings were close to the ground and next to the wall, plus if you hold it upside down the flame goes out. This unit solved the problem and made sweating the joints a breeze. Wished I had purchased it years ago, would have made some of my occassional fixit plumbing jobs around the house easier.

I was using a Benzomatic propane tank to melt a driveway crack filler but experienced flare ups when the tank was held on the slide. I ran back to the store to pick the extensions hose (which I should have done in the first place) and it solved my problems.
It come with a hook which is a nice feature for hanging the bottle and I found maneuvering and using the hose was a lot easier than waving the tank around itself. I highly recommend the torch extension hose to anyone who will be using the propane tank.

I am using Latex-ite PLI-STIX permanent asphalt crack filler to patch cracks in my asphalt driveway. I tried using a propane torch pointing downward- the flame kept going out. I read the directions for use and found out that it’s also risky to use a torch that way because of possible flare-ups. A propane torch is intended to be used with the tank standing upright. That makes sense, because the gaseous propane needs to come out of the opening at the top. Propane inside the cylinder is in a liquid form. Laying the cylinder on its side or turning it upside down caused the liquid to block the opening and, in my case, the flame kept going out.
I bought a Benzomatic WH0159 Universal Torch Extension Hose and a Benzomatic WT2301 Self-Igniting Basic Torch Head. With the hose connected to the tank and the Self-igniting head connected to the hose, the tank itself is upright in my tool carrier, and the job got a whole lot easier.
