Yes, but I don't recommend it. Poor design, doesn't work in a horizontal position.

Answer:
No, this is not made for MAPP. MAPP is discontinued in 2008, where did you get MAPP? I use Bernzomatic TS4000 and TS8000 with MAPP. If you meant MAP-Pro, this head is still wrong head for it. MAP-Pro burns much hotter than propane as in BTU but not so much in temperature. MAPP burns around 2000*F hotter than propane and much higher BTU too.

Answer:
No, this torch can only be used with Propane. Using a hotter fuel will permanently damage your torch.

I know the Coleman cylinder was probably made for camp equip, not specifically for torching. The description says that it was made for most canisters.

Answer:
The head 'should' fit. The cylinder heads (threads) if I remember correctly should be universal. Good way to use up that 1lb cylinder sitting around unused.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 61 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Item I had purchased this to replace my dad's old propane torch that was left behind in his old cabin after he had passed away. I had at first thought that the bottle that the old torch was on was empty so I had purchased a new bottle and put the torch on it only to discover that the torch itself was bad so I then decided to get a newer updated modern torch with a built in lighter and I had did some extensive searching for one and found this one at Home Depot at about half the price of the same type at Walmart so I purchased this one and have not had any problems with it. I only use it to light fires in my burn barrel at my cabin in the woods. It has never failed lighting in the past few months I have used it. And I am using it on a old bottle of propane several years old. I highly recommend this to anyone. But I have never used it for any type of soldering as I am really not experienced for that type of work but I suspect that it would do the job nicely. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I'm working outside - lights easily and flame hasn't gone out on me. I can turn the flame off when I want to, and one trigger pull is all it takes to start it again. A good investment – I don’t intend to go back to a striker to light a propane cylinder torch. I used it for about 4 hours today. Works great. April 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by You still need the extension hose I used this with the Benzomatic propane bottle to melt crack filler into my driveway. By virtue of melting something on the ground I needed to tilt the bottle on its side, revealing an issue with the torch head (but would most likely affect any other head as well). This would cause flare ups, slowing down my work. On its own the torch head is a good purchase, but you limit yourself if you do not also purchase the extension hose. The self igniting feature with the press of the red button is a nice feature. Every so often the flame would go out and I would have to depress the red button to get the flame going again. I'm not sure why the flame would go out, but it was easy enough to get it back going. This is simple to screw onto the bottle or extension hose. August 8, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the Cost Works as it should. Worth the purchase. Less expensive to purchase gas bottle(s) and Torch Head separately than purchasing the combo pack. Screw onto bottle. Open the valve. Pull the trigger. March 8, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst product Bernzomatic has ever made This plastic piece of garbage is not up to the standards people come to expect from the Bernzomatic name. They used to be known for high quality American made products. Now, since Worthington has taken over, they have replaced their ever popular brass American made torch with this steaming pile. It is everything you have come to expect from cheaply produced, overpriced big box store consumer grade plastic garbage. After only a small amount of use they fail to light. The electric spark still fires, but the torch won't ignite. I take one back about every 60 days for this reason. Don't ever trust this thing as your only source of fire! Also, the flame it produces is very uneven and hard to control the size of. Not sharp and precise like previous Bernzomatic products. Finally, if you ever drop this thing, don't expect it to hold together like a well made tool. It will shatter and brake like a dollar store party glass. Worthington has destroyed yet another great American brand name. December 12, 2015
