It states the height of the shed is 12ft tall. I assume that is a center measurement at max height. Do you think a golf club could be swung inside this barn/shed?
Asked by: Richard
Richard, Interior height to peak would be sufficient I should think. However there is wall brace at center of the 16' which is approximately 6-1/2' high. Standing behind or to the front of this brace should allow it to not interfere with your swing. Richard Best Barns

Can any of these sheds be wired for electricity?

Asked by: inquisitiveowl
There is nothing in the construction that prevents wiring. You should contact your local building authority to determine if there are restrictions. Richard Best Barns

Customer Reviews

Denver 12 ft. x 16 ft. Wood Storage Shed Kit is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shed, poor instructions Overall, I am very happy with this shed. It provides plenty of storage space and the wide/tall doors make access extremely easy. I built mine on an existing slab, so I didn't use the floor kit. Also, the ability to build a loft (I built one in the back half of the shed), adds a nice second level of storage. The shed was fairly easy to build, but this is definitely not for beginners. You need to be a pretty experienced handyman to do this yourself; and you definitely need some friends. If not, I really suggest using HD's install services. I had some friends help me raise the walls and roof, but was able to build the rest of it myself for the most part. That brings me to the instructions. This shed comes in two shipments (one from Home Depot, one from the manufacturer). The instructions are painfully unclear as to what lumber is going to be used for what. Most of that is intuitive (for instance the 16' 2x4s are the side rails), but the instructions state "Do not discard the shipping container as some of it is used in the construction of this building." The instructions don't state which parts are, just that some are. None of the wood is painted/color coated, so you're left to guess what lumber is to be used where. The actual assembly instructions are pretty good, but you are left to interpret what the intent is quite a bit. The shed comes with all the necessary hardware, including nails, but I STRONGLY recommend getting a good nail gun for the job, as there are A LOT of nails used in putting this together. You'll need 6, 8, and 10d galvanized nails. This shed does not come with any roofing materials, so plan on spending $200 - $350 on roofing. I added two HD 24x24 skylights ($69/ea), and a roof vent to mine. I did that because the shed is big enough that without the extra light from the skylights, it is plenty dark in the back of the shed with the doors wide open. Adding the roof vent allows me to store paints, solvents, and gasoline (for lawn tools), without worrying about dangerous gas build up. It also helps keep the heat down. I also added a safety ring to the roof so I could use a harness when putting the roofing, skylights, etc.. on, as well as for future use. Home Depot sells a safety harness kit for $99. This shed took me about a week of work to complete. It probably could have been done in about three days if I had extra help the whole time. Again, building this shed yourself is not for beginners. The instructions are not totally clear, but can be figured out by an experienced builder/handyman. Extras I added: Two skylights One Roof vent Loft (6 2x4x12, two 4x8 sheets of OSB) Back shelf (2 2x4x12, one 4x8 sheet OSB cut in 1/2). Inside tool mounting rails Door handles

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I like the look of this product. Started putting the shed together and found about 90% of the boards warped, making it difficult to put together. Used probably more nails then needed but had to in order to compensate for the boards. The doors came the same way. The trim on the outside is not treated wood so know I have to treat it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great package! We bought this to replace our old shed and are very happy. The directions are easy to understand and the wood quality is very good. No warped pieces at all. I didn't side it until it was framed because I built most of it without help but I would not hesitate purchasing a kit from Best Barns. I also placed mine on a cement slab so no wood floor.
