Customer Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the red jacks and the black jacks. The black ones are more expensive

Asked by: Dave
If you're referring to hydraulic bottle jacks, then functionally there is no difference. Lift capacity and height should guide your selection.

Customer Reviews

12-Ton Low-Profile Bottle Jack is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the price! I was skeptical about the ability to lift so much weight. I had to level my tiny house (about 17,000 lbs) and this bottle jack did its job. We used it a lot because we had to re-do the leveling a few times due to inexperience of leveling 28ft long houses. Overall- very satisfied with this bottle jack and its price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought two of these 12-Ton Low-Profilw bottle jacks to... I bought two of these 12-Ton Low-Profilw bottle jacks to help with my conex shipping containers. Sometimes a concrete block will break and these will lift the container so I can fix a new block in place. I have not used them yet but I am sure they will be just fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hard to lower Perhaps I may not be doing something right - but I bought these for a project that required I level a utility trailer as needed. Having a hard time getting the neck to lower after I jacked it up. It's been a bit of a headache.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not maintain load I bought four of these jacks in order to assist in raising sagging framing in my home. Right away, I noticed that one of the jacks would slowly lower with no load on it. I deemed this one defective, but then the other jacks would not maintain their load. Each would slowly lower at their own pace. Deemed them unusable for my application or any in my opinion. Junk.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerfull well made 12 ton Bottle Jack The bottle jack has a low profile and a larger diameter piston than the lower price models. At this price point the product comes with a 1 year warranty. The directions for bleeding the air were simple and easy to do. The jack raises slowly with each up down motion of the handle. There was no effort when lifting the car. Lowering is slow and smooth. As someone else noted the only problem is that the piston gets stuck under the car since the piston does not lower passed the contact height. Trying to move the piston down manually is next to impossible. I do have a work around but Home Depot probably won't publish this review if I include it. Given the jack is made to lift 12 tons, the hydraulics needed to lower slowly are what make it difficult to pull the piston down. I rated the jack "good" and not "excellent" due to the problem of removing the jack after lowering. I used the jack to lift my 16' x 8' shed to reset the footings that had sunk into the ground at an angle. It lift the shed up with everything inside without any effort.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Most of them work right I bought six jacks. The price was great, but two of six have recurrent leak problems, as in they very slowly leak down over a twenty four hour period. As I'm jacking up a house with them, I would like to have them stay up once they go up.
