I used this load lever to replace my timing chains on my SUV. I used it to separate the transmission and engine and then it held the engine in place to work on the chains. It works great only complaint is the chains are short to work on a modern engine. I had to added some chain sections. Great value! Lowest anywhere.

I used the load lever on a GM 6.2 diesel engine (without trans) and it worked good. I did take the advice of others and removed the plastic handle on the unit and replaced it with a bolt before using it.

Worked perfect and at a great price. I used to pull a 4.3L v6 out of a boat.

After reading some of the other reviews, I felt I was buying this tool as informed as I could be. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I was wrong. Nobody had mentioned that the adjustment screw was made from a very substantial Acme thread which adjusts well under a load. I lifted a Ford Flathead motor, which is very heavy and the adjustment feature worked as designed and as expected. I did have to do some rework to the small black handle to improve it's life expectancy but that was covered in other reviews and very much needed. For the couple uses a year that I use this tool, I am very pleased.

This load leveler works great. The only problem is when I pulled it out of the box the handle was broke. I made a new one for it. I think that is a poor design. So far out side of the handle the leveler works perfectly.

My Dad and I had an engine attached to a chain at opposite corners of the engine and struggled for three hours to install it before we finally gave up and pulled it back out. With this attached at four corners I did it myself in fifteen minutes. When he showed up to help he couldn't believe the engine was already in the car, on the motor mounts and attached to the trans. Having the right tools and using them properly is invaluable. Don't tell Home Depot but to me this tool was worth four times what I paid for it!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 350swap454 We broke the handle with motor in the air
We were hoisting a BBC out of the truck and attempted to turn the crank to level the motor. Unfortunatey, the knob busted off in my hand and the handle bent. This was a heavy 454 motor/transmission but all the accesories had already been removed. I've welded our own crank handle onto the gadget so our install should go easier. While I would recommend this product, it would be my advice that the user go ahead and remove the screw handle and bolt or weld your own handle. Or you could just use the other end with a socket.
