How do you lower jack?

I am twisting to the left but jack fails to lower...
Asked by: John
Counter clockwise turns will lower the jack. Ensure the handle is seated and engaging the lug.

Customer Reviews

3-Ton Steel Floor Jack is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from good purchase I wanted a heavier duty floor jack that could lift my higher vehicles past the point to where the tire just raises off the floor. Most smaller jacks go to 14 inches. That would not do. This one raises all my vehicles quickly and to any height I need up to 20 inches and allows me to crawl under with a creeper. It has a handle that comes apart and rolls easily. The other reviewers complained that it was hard to break the lift slowly but I had no trouble bringing down the cars at whatever rate I needed. It held up my 57 Chevy for more than 48 hours upon testing. This is a jack for years to come. I can live with the made in Canada too. At least its not from China.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dead on arrival - Didn't work Dead on arrival. Would not engage to lift up. Contacted manufacture, we tried a couple of things, still didn't work, customer service said it must be defective and to return to place of purchase. Brought it to HomeDepot for refund (was purchased online). They refunded with no problem. While at HomeDepot, I purchased a cheap floor jack they had on the shelf (Husky 2.5 ton floor jack). It worked the first time and I was able to do my auto repairs. I read some negitive reviews on this manufacture, but for this price range it seems all the manufactures have some negitive reviews, seems like a cra* shoot if you get one that works right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 ton floor jack I bought this jack for my son who is a mechanic. He loves this product and the quality. He considers it a safe and reliable jack. I looked at many jacks and compared prices and product construction before choosing. Thanks for having what I needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big Red junk Very occasional home use for cars and trucks. Lasted about 2 yrs. Used maybe 10 times. Only has 1 yr warranty. Stored in original box in closed garage while owned. Maybe my bad luck. Manufacturer would not help with replacement. Looks brand new. Off to the dump. Good luck....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lifts great, hard to slowly lower jack I used this jack last weekend to work on two different cars. The jack easily lifted both vehicles but each time when it was time to lower the vehicle, it is very hard to lower the car slowly. A lot of torque needs to be applied to the handle to lower the jack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This does what it's supposed to do, what more could you ask. I bought this to mate up with their transmission adapter. The three ton capacity is really a little overkill for me, but the high lift is great. it's a big improvement over my old and smaller garage jack that was getting to be worn out. At first I had a little trouble with air in the hydraulic cylinder, but a call on their helpful help line and the problem was easily fixed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Couldn't get it to raise As soon as I unpacked it I read the instructions and it cautioned me that the lift might not raise. Then it instructed me to back off the valve (turning it counter clockwise) and to pump it 4 times then close the valve. No luck after numerous tries so I returned the unit to the closest store.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent Jack Jack is decent for the money. Handle does not stay in holder. Screw is too short. The hydraulic valve could use more range. Jack lowers too quickly.
