Answer:
You should be able, the jack lowers it self to about 6 inchs off the ground and can safely lift to about 36 or 3 feet off the ground. A jeep with a good bumper should not be a problem, now if the jeep has these plastic stuff they use now a days, then you will be better off with a floor jack that can roll underneath the body.

As long as you have a solid mounting point close to the edge of the vehicle, this jack will lift anything.

I would be interested in mounting this jack to the hood of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Where would I find brackets to do this? Would Home Depot have them, or does anyone have any ideas?

Answer:
I'm pretty sure it will as long as you have a solid base to support the lift. I lifted a 30 year old fence post that was buried 3 feet deep with about 200 pounds of concrete. It took a little effort but it slowly pull it out from the ground, as soon as it broke the ground completely it was effortless to lift 200 lbs.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Farm Jack I just used it to remove two fence post buried 3 feet with about 160 pounds of concrete that been in the ground for the last 25 years. With a some effort it pulled those pilings right out. May 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saved my Jeep After getting stuck during a late night off-roading adventure this jack was able to lift the Jeep off the ground even on the soft mud. If it weren't for it I'd probably still be out there. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good quality product A fence jack is fairly straight forward, I have an acre and a half to maintain and this makes a lot of tasks much easier. August 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Release pin/level extremely hard to operate The release pin was extremely hard to release...needs to be improved. I had to struggle to release the pin and it took several attempts. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by love it bought it for removing fence post worked very well June 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Design -- Very Poor Quality The main lifting claw material ruptured at the base structure (see photo) with first use. I estimate less than 1 ton was applied. Being a professionial mechanical engineer with decades of design, stress analysis, and material science experience, this has to be one of the poorest designed structural devices I have ever seen. The cast metal is not only very porous, but there is VERY weak structure at the highest stress location on the jack--the base of the claw where it attaches to the jack. Do not buy!!! July 17, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Its ok You get what you pay for it is OK for its price seems to be a made cheap but I will write another review after I use it for while December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This jack is a beast! Used this to assist in removing a 8 x 40 steel and pt lumber dock out of a lake. Couldn't have done the job without it. Great quality, heavy duty. October 20, 2015
