Customer Questions & Answers

I need to pull a U-Post out of the ground. Will this do the job? What else do I need?

Anything else I should know?
Asked by: John
I'm not familiar with U-Posts, but from a google image search, I'd say yes this would be no problem. You just need a good way to connect the jack to the post. Does the post have holes that you could attach a chain with a hook or quick link? If I can pull tree stumps out of the ground, I'm sure your fence post would be a breeze. Just my 2 cents.

Lift a Tractor

My tractor weighs about 2-1/2 tons, need to lift front or rear from time to time. Is it safe to use this product for that function?
Asked by: KyCat52
If you can get the finger under something strong and the foot on something that will tolerate the load I am convinced you'll have no problem lifting 3 tons. It lifted one side of my 10 by 16 float with ease.

Does this unit Jack down as smoothly as it jacks up?

I do not want the load slammed down. Also, Hi-lift limits Jack down load to 150 pounds minimum. Any (reasonable) restriction here?
Asked by: Gunner
This jack jacks down as smoothly as it goes up. When you get to no load it drops right down. I think with all of these jacks it is important to hang onto the handle as you jack down.

I purchased this jack to pull shrub, bush, and small tree stumps out of the ground (google "farm jack stump removal"). It worked flawlessly, really exceeded expectations. It's so powerful! For this (rather unorthodox) application

Also, the second stump was much easier after a bit of rain, I'd just recommend putting down a large flat stone or piece of wood under the jack as a base so it doesn't get stuck in the mud.

My 25 year old float is still in good shape but the fastenings holding the skids in place fell victim to salt water salt water. One of the 2x6's came off completely last fall and the piece under it was partially dislodged. So I needed to lift the side about 16 inches to replace the fastenings, enough for the length of the fastenings and the Makita impact driver. Our location is remote so a crane lift from the water side would be pretty expensive. Big Red to the rescue. As you can see from the photo the wintering cove is part rock and part soft marine clay. I put a board under red and jacked the board about a foot down before picking up the load. The jacking effort was easy and when I had it high enough I blocked the ends a couple of feet back from the work side and refastened the timber. Then, as I started jacking the thing down I realized that a photo might be nice. Then I went around the other side and did the same thing all on the same tide. This jack is heavy duty and awesome.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from broke after one use Got this to remove a small trunk like I saw on youtube. Well had everything set up and when I started cranking it up the Jack started to bend and piece of the Jack broke off. Very disappointed. The trunk was small I took it out just using a shovel.
