Answer:
The shovel is all plastic, but is durable. The snow does not stick. The handle from my original shovel broke after 15+ years of use. I was happy to find a replacement and have sent my original shovel back for replacement (don't know how well they honor their warranty yet). No other shovel I've had performs as this one does.

Answer:
Aluminum & plastic. Don't know exact weight, but not an issue as it is light enough for functionality.

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 98 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Handle snapped after little use Barely used it last year. First time out this year handle snapped in half. December 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All time favorite shovel. Nobody enjoys shoveling snow, so everyone looks at their shovel with disgust. That is, until this shovel came along. Truly a design masterpiece. The pivoting handle makes all the difference. Awkward for the first 2 minutes, then you realize how efficient it really is. Adjustable in height, the 2nd handle allows for easier lifting. You can pitch snow 3X further when needed, without falling down or throwing your back out. Plenty sturdy. It's never broken, and it's been through 15+ Idaho winters. Yeah, the blade part is quite worn, and that's why I bought a 2nd one, before they're no longer available. Imagine a snow shovel you actually like. March 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Snow Shovel Ever! I have used this snow shovel since 2003. It is by far the best I have ever used and wanted to purchase another one, as I wanted a spare in case I needed another one. I diligently hunted, including the Web, and was unsuccessful in finding a replacement. I was lucky and found in my files the label that came with my original shovel, kept for the 6 year guarantee. I wrote the company and they referred me to HomeDepot where it is available on line. It has never cracked for me and scooping snow is MUCH easier on the back. I hope that there have been no design changes over the years. The picture is exactly like mine. January 15, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good idea but... This shovel is just not durable enough for places that get a lot of snow. I purchased one in the fall of 2014, mid-january 2015 the blade broke. I requested a warranty replacement, they sent a full new shovel. About 2 weeks later the handle broke on the replacement, so I put the blade from the new one on the old handle. The second blade broke in March 2015. I gave 2 stars because the front handle really does help with load on my back when shoveling, so the idea is good. For someone who is only moving 10-15 inches of snow a year this might last a while. But for the average northern state it just doesn't hold up. January 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Item as described, recommended... Item was as described, fast shipping and recommended.. March 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This version has issues I have a version of this shovel that I purchased about 3-5 years ago. The plastic bottom of it was getting pretty worn, so I bought a new one for this winter. The design combines the best of ergonomics & flexibility. The two little knobbies that hold the flex handle in place snapped in the sub-zero temperatures this morning, leaving me with a new, broken shovel with only 5 shoveling days in. The snow wasn't even heavy or packed. So now I will go back to using my old, worn shovel of the same model & try to figure out if I can switch parts on the two. January 25, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by broke after one big snow storm good concept but made poorly and the plastic cracked after one snow storm. do not recommend. March 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ergonomic handle is great for the back and for people with limited strength It holds a lot of snow, is lightweight, and it's ergonomic handle is easy on the back. With our most recent heavy wet snow (9 inches snow and 1 inch rain) the handle did break, after 15 years of use. I will be sending the handle back to the company, to see if they honor their warranty. I was happy to find a replacement on-line, while my old one is repaired. It's good to have a spare anyway. Many of my neighbors have asked me where I purchased it, because they don't see it stores. Please carry in store! January 19, 2016
