This is a solid effective lock. Installation is touchy - be sure to follow instructions carefully, using specified drill sizes. Spacing of holes is crucial - use the template and mark hole locations with centerpunch before drilling! Drilling the 3/4 inch holes with a hole saw is not too tricky if you take your time. Use a slower drill speed when drilling through steel, and application of a few drops of thread cutting oil for each hole is a good idea.
The lock works good, but the keyway is tight, it can be a bit of hassle to get the key inserted.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Orky This came almost as a kit requiring a couple of sub-assemblies before installing on the bulkhead.
Instructions were very poor;no sequence of steps provided. Came with 2 keys but I needed 3 more. Have tried to have them made, but so far could not get one copy to work yet. Will keep trying.
Seems as though they could have designed with a better key/lock mechanism.
Think this bilco lock is the only show in town; no competitors that I could find.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mike Overall excellent experience
This product has made my life so much easier as I can now use the Bilco entrance as a regular access to the house. I found product easy to install. The only hitch was the need for a large metal bit (which I improvised). Since keys are not readily available, should provide more than two.
