This is an AWESOME heater! We liked it so much, that we gave one to a dear friend, bought another and will be purchasing YET another in the next month. It is quite, efficient, and we really love the thermostate control in this unit! It senses when the room reaches your desired tempurature and then shuts itself off automatically! If the temperature drops below the set point, the heater will turn itself on automatically. We even used this to heat our home when we recently moved into a new construction home where the gas line hadn't yet been fully connected, yet we had moved in, and it kept us toasty & comfortably warm. You can't go wrong with this great heater.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ma6564 Works Well Til It Doesn't
I bought this Bionaire in January to heat my bathroom during cold weather. It worked wonderfully for about three months. Quiet, heated the entire room, loved the oscillating. Then after less than three months, it started squealing loudly. I cleaned it, thinking that was the problem, but that didn't fix it. It was becoming warm, so put it away until last week. Plugged it in and it was working for a day or so when the squeeling started again. I ignored it and by the next day, no heat. I threw it away. I felt, for the price, it should have lasted longer than three months of useage. Since I need a heater for the bath in the winter, I'll go with another brand now.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JohnnyD Planned Obsolescence
I have concluded that Bionaire designed this heater with some very nice features but engineered it so that its life will terminate after 1 year forcing you to purchase another. I did just that after the first one died thinking it was just a fluke. The second heater died after just one year. This is called planned obsolescence which the people at Bionaire must know. Do your homework and check other reviews on the web. You will find similar remarks. If you do purchase it, you will love it while it works. But when it prematurely breaks and you have taken the utmost care and responsibility with it, don't say I didn't tell you so.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Matlock610 Product poorly made & constructed
I purchased it. It lasted about 6 weeks and then the heater went out and only received COLD air. I called Bionaire and was told they didn't have any left & didn't know when more would be in. Told me to call back in 1 week. Called back in 1 week and still no heater. Was told to phone back in 2 weeks. Will do it. They have poor customer relationship, I am a senior citizen & can't afford to waste money on inferior products. Bionaire isn't going to make it good. I will just throw heater in the trash as it is no good. They don't need to be in business if they can't make a better product or stand behind what they do make.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by tmda Didn't function properly
My unit didn't seem to work correctly. I would set it on a temperature, say 71, and it would cycle on and off for a while, maintaining the temperature (I have a separate accurate thermometer in the room so I knew it was working properly). Then after about an hour, the unit just stayed off, and the room temperature dropped into the 60s. The unit failed to turn back on again unless I rose the temperature setting, in which case it would only run one cycle then shut off again. Before I knew it, I had the unit set on 74 and the room temperature was still in the 60s. I tried unplugging it and restarting it, and the same thing happened. Needless to say, I returned it and bought an oil-filled radiator.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by AlwaysCold Great for one year- twice!
I would have to agree 100% with another poster here, Jomad1, re: the planned obsolescence comment... I bought two of these in the past that each died almost 1 year to the day of when I first used them, almost as though the heater"knew" to do so. I am currently on my third, which I purchased this past October, and I suspect come October 2012, kaput. Only because of a very understanding HD manager who has taken these back have I continued to buy this product. When it does work, it works really great though, I must say!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gnome Quiet nice heater
This space heater is very quiet & operates well. There is no annoying beeping when you push the buttons like on other space heaters I have. The fan on the heater is very quiet, but pushes the heat out very well. I got this to go in my baby's room so no beeping controls and quiet airflow was a must for when the heater kicks on and off in the night. There is a remote that goes with it but I have not used it. I have not had any accidental tip overs because the base is of good size. The conrols are very easy to figure out. I like that is has an Eco mode to use less energy. In eco mode the heater seems to make just about as much heat as on max heat mode. Overall Excellent heater and worth the money. But I got mine at the end of the season on clearance for much much less.
