Answer:
We used a staple gun to fasten to wood frame members in the middle of the space and a 1" x 4" wood strip along the edges. We also used zip ties to secure joints after overlapping fabric.

How do I attach to round railings? Will string or wiring keep it up? (I don't want it flying off.)

To tie mine up with a 6 foot high chain-link fencing, I used zip ties. Worked great.

Answer:
This product material is a lightweight netting and is not strong enough to stop a projectile like a ball.

Hello Stonkey, yes, the netting should do the trick, as the holes are only 3/4ths of an inch.

Are edges re-inforced?

Two questions actually. Are the edges reinforced and is it suitable for a DIY catio project? A catio is a medium-security enclosure so indoor cats can get some sunshine and fresh air while staying safe and contained. My plan is to roll the edges of the netting around 1" wide wood slats, and wood-screwing them onto existing fencing.

Answer:
No edging and I would say it would not hold up to cats. I'd consider chain link for your purposes.

Answer:
For this project I will suggest the PE-Plus Premium Grade BirdNet. The netting opening is ¾” and is a more firm solution for your catio. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by THIS IS FOR THE BIRDS !!! I am the facilities manager for a large company that has about 50 tractor trailer "dock doors". In the summer we like to keep some of the dock doors open to let in fresh air, but we were having problems with birds flying in and out of the building through these dock doors. We looked into buying and having installed a second overhead door made of screen, but this would have been a major expense so instead we bought rolls of the bird netting and cut to size of the door. We then installed rods on the top of the doorway and hung the netting on the rods using "note book binder rings" we also put up a few small cup hooks on either side so that we could pull snug. This was nothing more than trial an error, but it worked out great ! When a tractor trailer does back into a dock, we simply slide the netting over on the rod, similar to a shower curtain. It was very easy to install and the best part is we solved the problem at a minimal cost and a fraction of the cost of installing overhead screen doors. July 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I needed We had a problem with birds in a parking garage. We removed the old damaged ceiling and replaced it with the bird netting. Our problem was solved. It was light weight and easy to install. September 21, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect This product was exactly what I was looking for. A lightweight but effective deterrent to the birds. You can't even tell its there either. August 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Does work I bought this to keep birds off some grape vines in the back yard. Works great. However I will look for a string type net for next year. The nylon mesh catches on everything. It was like a wrestling match to get the netting laid out. It is more of a two person job. But it does get the job done June 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NO NO NO NO Bought this for blueberries. Right off the roll it grabbed onto everything in sight, my feet, the grass, weeds, a stray bunny. I tried draping it over the blueberries and it immediately grabbed onto the leaves and bunches of berries. Trying to adjust it ripped bundles of berries and leaf clusters right off. If you have a full bottle of wine for after, try first setting up a full support to drape it over so it won't touch the plants. Start with 2 very calm - sedated preferably - people to hold the netting, and a spotter or 3 to keep it free from grass, weeds, feet, trees, buildings etc in the vicinity while a few more helpers position it on the support. Have bribes ready to enforce calm - you'll need them. I rolled it back up complete with grass plants and blueberry twigs, vowing to plant more berries and share. July 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fly away birds Works great and keeps the birds from investigating my new sprouts in the garden June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for our needs About this time every year we are overwhelmed by mexican fruit bats keeping the insect population under control. This results in a lot of bat waste (guano and urine) on our decks. So we used this netting to block access to the decks and it has been 100% effective without blocking our view or injuring the bats.
